betty
In an emergency situation using cloth strips for bandages/pads, is there any way to sterilize cloth other than to wash in hot water, soap, bleach and dry in a dryer. Would there be any additional benefit of putting them in a low temp oven as well and allowing to cool before packaging? I was thinking along the lines of what happens once you go through purchased gauze, pads, and band aids and need as close to sterile as you can get? Link to comment
CrabGrassAcres
Cloth can be ironed with a hot iron to sterilize. You can also wrap it in foil or brown paper and put it in the oven at 250-300. Length of time depends on how thick your package is. Link to comment
themartianchick
Good to know CGA! I had only heard of the ironing method. It is always good to know more than one way to accomplish a task. Link to comment
betty
Thanks for the info. In a grid down situation, my gas oven should still work and there is always the propane grill and aluminum foil. Link to comment

CrabGrassAcres
Just be careful not to scorch or char the cloth. Link to comment
