Momo
I seldom buy lunch meat but I had a chance to snag a great deal yesterday. The deli had roast beef for $1.98 a pound. I kept out about 2 pounds for lunches and put the rest in the freezer. I've never frozen lunch meat before. If it doesn't thaw out well, I can always use it with gravy and noodles I guess. I rarely buy it but when I catch it on sale I will buy a few packs and freeze them for when we take trips or do picnic lunches. We have never had any trouble with it. Quote Link to post
Jori
I do it all of the time and haven't had a problem. Quote Link to post
Cat
If it has high amount of water in it, you might have it go kind of "limp" when it thaws, with water drainage. Cheap shaved ham does that for me. But it doesn't really affect the taste. Quote Link to post
themartianchick
I've been freezing mine for years. We go through phases of eating or not eating deli meat in our house. I don't like to have more than a quarter of a lb in the fridge at any given time. Quote Link to post
Prickle
I'll grab 3 or 4 packs of turkey, honey ham or roast beef if I see it marked down and freeze them. I also freeze pepperoni and hard salami. I haven't noticed any major difference in quality when thawed. Quote Link to post
