Obamacare - Now What?

Recommended Posts

Homesteader, I totally agree with you and Communism could be an ultimate end for Amerika when it is is weakened enough for such a takeover, but for now there are enough people in the country that have a bad taste in their mouth about that word, including the politicians, for it to succeed directly. But we could be heading in that kind of direction and definitions of Totalitarianism, Socialism, Marxism, and even Facism are facing us right now, all dependant on the plans/goal of the Elite in power and how much apathy the younger population has towards their own freedom, individual rights, and privacy. We are already experiencing the swing towards Socialism and its a toss up whether the people will wake up to the reality of it all and be willing to fight back or just roll over and allow it to contrinue and probably progress to Totalitarianism, Marxism, or something else.

Your Russian friends chose to abandon their country and relocate to a better place. Now they may be seeing the same issues surfacing in this country that may actually cause worse conditions. Do they go back to their own country as a lesser evil; do they join the effort to save the Republic and its Constitution and Bill of Rights; or will they just give up and be apathetic about it all. Lots of people in this country and the world facing these decisions.

My similar friend is my neighbor from Thailand, in his early 50's, and was living the "American Dream" for many years. He's now been out of work for 5 years and living off of investments and assistance from other relatives. Most of his children have moved back home to sponge off him, including two married children who seem to be making babies on a regular basis. None are contributing to the household, which causes him a great amount of grief for his failure to raise them with proper values. He thought the American culture would do it for him better. He is contemplated returning to Thailand but knows too that is not a solution.

"We the People" are rapidly approaching a turning point in our future and the future of the country we call home. No matter what name we give it or define it, it all comes down to what choices are we going to make towards the path we take. I have a placard on my car that says "Freedom is not Free". Do you understand its meaning? How far are you willing to go, if necessary, to have that freedom. If you don't know, grab on to a military veteran. They know.

DH ordered the forms.....and they were 50% less $ than when he ordered them years ago. At that time, the client's bill gave DH just enough money to pay for the forms his visit had caused DH to need. :sigh:

Of COURSE they are changing the forms [really?] BUT he was able to order the new forms at this time. Good news.....I guess.

But he updated me. He said Medicare rules have been gradually on their way to compliance for a national health care [...CONTROL and MONITORING ..] for quite some time and not even specifically what we call O-care....since Hillary's shiny card, etc.

Also said he already hasn't been taking people on Medicare at all because of the near impossibility of filling out the forms to their satisfaction. Neither he, nor his former 'front desk' staff, were able to "succeed" without an average of four attempts. [mail it in and get it back/mail it in and get it back....dotting the "i" correctly...] It's not really about more time-consuming/energy-consuming/dollar-consuming paperwork. It's about them sending it back to be redone, no matter how you've filled it out. <_< Insurance companies also play that game constantly but eventually they pay the bill....sort of....part of it....sometimes.... :banghead:

He's still trying to not take anyone on Medicare because chiros cannot opt-out like MDs. BUT ----- {big shock coming} We're all getting older. The patients he's had for the past 10-15 yrs are.......10 to 15 years closer to age 65. :0327: So he decided he's really not going to tell them to find a different chiro [good luck with that!] cuz they just "aged-out".

Many of these folks are dear people and we've gotten to know them well. But suddenly, they will be, through NO fault of their own...like me, causing him to lose money, time and hair [thru hair-pulling-frustration]. Hmph! It's so much fun to be a health care professional right now. NOT!

Whatdya gonna do?

>>>Major Technical Problem according to John McAfee Founder of McAfee Anti-Virus
>>>FROM: John McAfee on Obamacare: "This is a hacker’s wet dream."
>>>03 Oct 2013
>>>On Fox Business Network’s “Cavuto” on Wednesday, computer programmer and founder of McAfee, Inc. John McAfee said the online component of Obamacare “is en'ta hacker’s wet dream” that will cause “the loss of income for the millions of Americans who are going to lose their identities.”
>>>For starters, McAfee said the way it is set up makes it possible for fake websites be set up to fool people to think they’re signing up for Obamacare.
>>>“It’s seriously bad,” McAfee said. “Somebody made a grave error, not in designing the program but, in simply implementing the web aspect of it. I mean, for example, anybody can put up a web page and claim to be a broker for this system. There is no central place where I can go and say, ‘OK, here are all the legitimate brokers, the examiners for all of the states and pick and choose one.’”
>>>“Instead, any hacker can put a website up, make it look extremely competitive, and because of the nature of the system — and this is health care, after all — they can ask you the most intimate questions, and you’re freely going to answer them,” he continued. “What’s my Social Security number? My birth date? What are my health issues?”
>>>According to McAfee, there’s not a quick fix — and as long as it set up this way, it could be a playground for computer hackers.
>>>“Here’s the problem: It’s not something software can solve,” McAfee continued. “I mean, what idiot put this system out there and did not create a central depository? There should be one website, run by the government, you go to that website and then you can click on all of the agencies. This is insane. So, I will predict that the loss of income for the millions of Americans who are going to lose their identities — I mean, you can imagine some retired lady in Utah, who has $75,000 dollars in the bank, saving her whole life, having it wiped out in one day because she signed up for Obamacare. And believe me, this is going to happen millions of times. This is a hacker’s wet dream. I mean I cannot believe that they did this.”

Yup, that's the truth.

Your rights, your privacy, and your assets are being permanently drained, both by the government and by the parasites that live by 'taking' rather than 'earning'.

It doesn't change our situation, but its another notch on our reality adjustment.

Obama admin. knew millions could not keep their health insurance

and I love this one:

Obamacare Pledge: Info on Applications 'Won’t Be Used For Immigration Enforcement Purposes'

Why would the administration want to get rid of these potential liberal voters. They want all those illegal aliens in the country and made legal. and with that comes.....

Food Stamp enrollment more than doubles in decade...

Sad that getting people ON an assistance program is a goal.....better to get them into employment that pays enough so they don't need it.

Sad that after bragging about achieving this goal.....they are now going to do that ole Bait N Switch and reduce the benefits. :scratchhead:

MtRider --- as always: NO disrespect to those that need it....but their grande goal ended up hurting those in true need. :(

On occasion we all have feelings of being stepped on by bullies who don't give a bleepin' _____ about us as individual people, but something is definitely wrong/bad when that feeling comes from your own government and the people that are supposed to represent us.

If ObamaCare is so great for "us", with the need to force feed it, why oh why are they exempting themselves from it and now also their entitled servants....

Congress to exempt staff from Obamacare...

Sorry, this kind of stuff makes me want to puke-smiley-emoticon.gif

It has been very difficult to find doctors willing to take on new Medicaid/Medicare patients for some yrs now. Don't suppose this will improve anything.

I can see a LOT of people deciding it is cheaper to pay cash and take a chance on the fine, rather than paying HUGE premiums with a HUGE deductible. Then too, how many doctors will find it better to only take cash for as long as the gov doesn't stop them and then to either retire or go offshore? Anybody interested in a floating hospital in International Waters?

Link to post

Unfortunately it appears that the doctor and hospital situation is only going to get worse with no light at the end of the tunnel so far. As for the penalties, that's to be seen, but the $95 fine appears to be the 'first' fine and it will get progressively steeper. The government does not want people opting out. But right now opting out seems to be the safest road to take.

I'm so tired of the lying and of the 42% of the country that supposedly keeps believing the lying.

Top Dem: Those aren't 'cancellation notices,' they're 'transitions'... (tell that to those that lost theirs)

Paralyzed firefighter kicked off insurance... (transition?)

SEBELIUS: 'Website has never crashed'... (website was down as she spoke)
Refuses to join Obamacare... (along with everyone else in the government)
HOT MIC: 'Don't do this to me'...

Somebody convince me this is a Martha Stewart event.

I find this amazing.....

Obama blames 'bad apple insurers' for canceled health plans...

Anybody who has been researching the information knows different. I guess the Pied Piper feels he can say and do anything and people will believe him and follow blindly.

I guess too that the other politician will have to be criticized who said there were no canceled policies. <duh> They need to get their stories straight.

Most of us have been aware of all the testimony on Capital Hill, so now we get this nice revelation:

Testimony Of Kathleen Sebelius Is Word-For-Word Identical To Testimony Of CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner

Makes you wonder why they even get in front of a microphone when all they need to do is submit their printed response. Nobody is being accountable or truthful about anything.

I'm long past being surprised.

My insurance company said my policy would remain the same and I'm grandfathered in. You don't suppose the reason is because of my $1,359.15 a month premium do ya?! I'm guessing my rate has to come down. But nothing would surprise me either.

I wonder... if our monthly premium and tax credit is based upon our annual salary, if we get a raise will the monthly bill go up? Who would take a second job to supplement their income if they just have to pay it out in a higher insurance rate plus more taxes.

If we are all going to be equal and have the same insurance opportunity and care, then how come there is a bronze, silver, gold and platinum package? Of course the gold and platinum cost more. And how come in my state I'm not offered the platinum package? Not even an option for me even if I wanted to pay for it. I don't, but still...

You remind me of a former life years ago when I actually made good money. Nowadays your premium is more than my gross income. :)

It would appear that your existing policy coverage meets the requirements of ObamaCare so your insurance carrier was not required by its law to cancel you. Next question would be if your Deduction requirements remain the same. Keep us up to date. It should be interesting compared to the opposite end of things.

I'm sorry folks but this is getting funnier and funnier in a sick sort of way.

The reason now given for the reason for all the insurance policy cancellations is......"Capitalism". Here's the narrative:

Rep. Frank Pallone (D-NJ) was on The Kelly File with Megyn Kelly tonight to spin for the administration. Pallone tried to convince Megyn that it was not due to Obamacare that millions of Americans were losing their health care plans.

Pallone called it — “capitalism.”

Rep. Frank Pallone: The bottom line is if you’re selling a lousy policy with a price that’s too high nobody’s going to buy it. So they’re cancelling these policies because they know people won’t buy them.

Megyn Kelly: But they were buying them. They were buying them. 15 million people who bought them and said “I like them”, Mr. Pallone.

Pallone: They’re not going to buy them anymore when they have a better alternative.

Kelly: Thanks to you!… Why do you get to decide what’s lousy?

Pallone: It’s capitalism.

Here's the link and the actual video interview.

Democrat Pallone on Millions of Cancelled Health Care Plans: “It’s Capitalism” (Video)

It comes across to me more like Socialism where you are told something is being done for your best interest (actually theirs) and you have no sayso on the matter.

Believe me, I'm not wealthy either! My income has nothing to do with the price of my premiums. They didn't even ask about that. I pay a copay, get no eye, dental or prescriptions. I'm 61 and I see the doctor 1-2 times a year usually just to get prescriptions updated and a mammogram every other year. The meds I take control high blood pressure and high cholesterol. That's it. If it wasn't for my savings (that are in the crapper now) and my D-Ex continuing to pay alimony even though he doesn't have to...I'm not sure what I'd do.

Even though I'm pretty sure my rate will go down, I'm still against Obamacare. As soon as he got elected the first time, my insurance rates went through the roof. I know it was because the insurance company was sticking us good before Socialized Medicine kicked in. At that time no one knew for sure how it was going to work (we still don't) so they wanted to rake in as much as they could off the backs of those who would still need to pay.

On a lighter side...I heard a funny today:

Knock Knock

Who's There

Colder Who

Colder than a cadaver waiting for Obamacare. :P

What I am wondering about is the cost of policies outside of Obamacare. Sure, they say they can't deny you for preexisting things, BUT noone said they did away with the MIB..medical Information Bureau. I am sure they will still look you up and charge you accordingly.

My new favorite slogan is "A Vote For Freedom Is Never Wasted" and comes from the Virginia website that posted the following nice piece of information:

IT BEGINS: Dem calls for law to require all doctors to treat MedicaidMedicare patients...

I know several doctors that will enter into a permanent state of rigor mortis of their middle finger.
