The WE2's
Wanted to get this part started. As many of you are aware, MrWE2 plans to hike the entire 235+ miles of the Katy Trail with me following in Miss B (our Class B motorhome) to meet him at the various trailheads so he can rest, eat and sleep if it's evening. We've driven it and have programmed the trailheads into the GPS so all I have to do is punch in the trailhead name and "Elvira" will guide me back to it. To be honest, my greatest concern is that there are several miles of the trail that there is NO cell phone coverage :-( We both plan to be packing though. I've taken pics of the 2nd jaunt (forgot to take them the first part) and will take more as I follow along. I'm amazed at the tiny little river and railroad towns that are barely surviving...most of which I never even heard of :-) (I can only load ten pics here, so there will be some trailheads etc., that I'll have to post in another comment here?) So many have converted large colonial-type homes into bed & breakfast places for the riders/hikers/and walkers of the trail. Stay tuned :-) Edited September 5, 2015 by The WE2's Quote Link to comment
The WE2's
At the Hartsburg trailhead I loved what they're doing for the tourist. Here's a few pics of the "Grand Station" where they'll be having dances etc., and right next door is the Globe Bed & Breakfast. Not far away is the Hitching Post store. I'm looking forward to spending more time there taking pictures :-) Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
Wow MrWE2, that is awesome! I've never heard of the trail. Really enjoyed the pics. I'll have to Google it. How long will you be gone? Hope you can check in often to let us know how you are both doing. Quote Link to comment
Twilight
Thanks for sharing the pictures! That would be shorter than the Appalachian trail and easier to plan. Maybe when Joy is over advertising her wares and my allergy has calmed down...... Quote Link to comment

The WE2's
The hike may be postponed for a couple of weeks or so...a client called and has work for MrWE2 on a vacated apartment (cleaning it out, painting etc.) and we can't afford for him to pass up any light duty jobs that God brings to us. But we have several good months ahead before the snow flies, so he'll get to do it...even if it's in 2 or 3 days spurts :-) Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
Yep, the trail will always be there...work may not. I'd get it while the gettin' is good too. Quote Link to comment
The WE2's
Miss B still is throwing us curves. It seems that there's some sort of leak (hose or heater core?) that spits out water into the passenger side's floorboard. We've got her up for sale and have had several "non-serious inquiries" and one "semi-serious" looker :-( If we keep it we'll go ahead and get things fixed. THEN she may or may not be for sale, and if she is...absolutely not for the price she's currently listed at. Looked at two Class B's (they're extremely hard to find) that we in better shape, but one was $14,900 and the other was $19,900. We've priced her at $7,000 as is. It won't take near $7,000 to bring her up to shape. Anyway, to make this story short...the Katy Trail trip is still on hold :-( Quote Link to comment
Jeepers
Sorry about Miss B. It's a good thing she didn't break down on you while you were on the trail though. Quote Link to comment
