Walked first, fed dogs and walked them. And done! What? Nothing on my list today. not having an oven slows me down! Tomorrow, I will go to town for local grocery sales.

Might go out in the garden this afternoon, maybe not.

Every day, you guys. Every. Single. Day. We’ve had 2 days of clear air in the last four weeks. Today this is what my car looked like while sitting overnight under the carport. It’s on the windowsills

I ruined a pot of soup last night and had to send DH out for chic-fil-a.  The kids were happy but I was annoyed.  Newer crockpots just cook way too hot.

The baby is doing well but I am exhausted from the entire year.  My household is slowly descending into chaos as I let things slide b/c I am too tired to care anymore.

Didn't get a lot done today like I had hope to.  Did run up to Food Lion as I was out of eggs and milk. Came home and just rested and did a bit of this or that around here. Tooth throbbed all day.  Took a pain pill that I had left over from 09. Vicodin.  I hate taking that mess. Though it was from 2009 it still stopped the pain. But I get that drugged feeling for a long while and I hate that feeling. I will only take them at night. One works and the pain is gone but it still lets me know it is there. Going to call the place I have to go for the root canal to see if they can just go ahead and do it. Though I am on antibiotics, I don't want to wait till I finish them. Just want this to be over so I can get back to work around here.

DH is going Monday for the phy. therapy. This will be the first visit. So need to get this tooth taken care of fast.

Eupphrasyne, This has been a stressed out year for so many.  More so for you with the baby.  Me with DH having his issues from March and still not over yet. I think everyone is getting tired now from it all and an election that could go south with things getting much worse depending on who wins.  I know I am over it, and just want to lay down and take a nap and not wake up till this year is over.

I’m in TX.  Yesterday, they announced & strongly recommended everyone stay home & required masks when going out to get supplies, & asked only one member of a family to go out for supplies, for the next two weeks.  Blaming the huge spike in COVID cases on “the young people who are refusing to wear masks”.

Today, I have a vehicle service appointment and an optometrist appointment, then, I need to get MIL supplies.  Looking forward with anticipation, being able to see clearly.

Today I got kitchen good and clean as I want to get started on some canning again from freezer.  Washed clothes and did a bit of picking up around the house.  Tooth has been hurting off and on and I think the antibiotic is making me a bit tired.  I have the root canal done next Wed. Not looking forward to it but if it stops the pain then I will be all for it. Just be glad when it is all over.  DH starts his therapy on Monday, then Tues. we go vote and then off to have those skin cancers taken off of DH's leg and other areas. He has one on his head that the skin doctor just freezes and it keeps coming back, so the plastic surgeon will be taken care of that one to. He said it should come off. It is like the one they took off of side of his face.

Do they not realize that not getting any fresh air, no sunshine and little exercise is not good for anyone!?  Just my opinion.

I agree with you, WE2.

My vehicle got its maintenance, no charge, AMEN.  Went to the optometrist, as a walk in, as recommended, because I’m from AZ with limited time in TX.  MIL got there about 15 minutes later. We chit chatted for a few minutes before the optometrist came out, & quietly talked to the receptionist... who promptly got up, got her purse and headed for the door.  The optometrist quickly said, “I want the key.”  A few seconds later, the key was thrown into the waiting room.   Ok?  Then, the optometrist apologized for the inconvenience, and said the receptionist didn’t tell her that, even though she tested negative for Covid, her boyfriend, she lives with did, & the medical facility notified the optometrist a few minutes earlier.  Sigh.  One walk-in left, the other one, just after me, helped us sterilize all the waiting room, chairs, carpet, desks, magazines, etc.  I was next.  The optometrist was clearly upset, and was extremely disturbed that the receptionist, who is responsible for doing the basic eye tests, had not informed her.  She wiped down all the equipment, chairs, & every thing, before she let me sit down.  I tried to reassure her, she was right for being upset and firing the girl.  Honesty is important, especially in that line of business.  So... got my tests done...  she recommended I go for tests for macular degeneration. :imoksmiley:  Also, confirmed the beginning of cataracts at the base of my retinas.  :sigh:  Explains a lot about the problems I’ve had seeing.  She also recommended taking a close up picture of a “freckle” I’ve had in my eye, because it is growing and slightly raised up.  Plus, when my eyes get tired, the double, triple, quadruple vision, needs a specialist... :gaah:  Geeze, I’m an artist, I need my eyes.  Well....   I guess, I am going to need to ‘see’ what else I can do.  :scratchhead:  Explains why I’m having trouble reading.  One reason why, MrsS is the only place I read on-line.  I don’t read news, I don’t do FB, (very rarely), etc.  DH ‘surfs’ for hours, if I spend an hour on-line, I can guarantee I will have double/triple vision for the rest of the day.  I was surprised, the test with a white background and a small black box, turned black with a white box.  She told me to blink more often.  By doing that, I passed the test... no “brain tumor” was her reply.  All in all, my new glasses, should be ready in 2-3 weeks, due to the short supply of lenses, due to Covid.

Went to the grocery store, got dinner, a couple of steaks, potatoes, asparagus, a lb. of shrimp for snacking, 2 Bolio bread rolls & a couple of 1/2 gallons of milk.  BBQed the meat, cooked the potatoes and asparagus for our dinner.  Tomorrow, I will make Philadelphia cheese steak sandwiches with the left over meat, for us.

My eyes are tired...  sweet dreams everyone....  :offtobed:

Sorry your eyes are giving you problems. I'm overdue for an eye exam. And dental, and hair cut and oil change and on and on.

That reminds me, if you guys are due for an oil change for your car, now might be a good time to get it done. I wouldn't want to get stuck in a tiny bay at the oil change place if things go south next month. Just one more thing to get out of the way. I passed by the place I usually go to and they had a guy in a gorilla suit by the street trying to drum up business. That made me think of it. He had a sign but I couldn't read it.

I've got to get mine done this week.  I might aim for Monday or Tuesday, since it's supposed to be cold out.  Tends to make it where fewer people get out.

I should go vote then, too...

Yesterday, I ate soup that was basically beef (the failed eye of round roast), celery, onions, and broth for breakfast and lunch and skipped dinner.  I'd cooked it with carrots, but fished them out to lower the carbs.

Today, scrambled eggs with cream cheese and a bunless bacon cheeseburger, plus half a serving of lemon cheesecake fluff.  Dinner will be cabbage & sausage baked in the oven, plus the other half of my fluff for dessert.

Tomorrow: Leftover eggs for breakfast, leftover burger and some cucumber for lunch, and skillet pizza (ie, mozzarella melted & browned in the skillet and topped with sausage & mushrooms) for dinner.

I think I want to dice up my zucchinis, salt them and let them drain a bit, then bake them with a light coating of shredded cheese until they're crispy.  That might be Tuesday night.

Ann,  Hope all went well at the eye doctor's.  We all need our eyes to be in good shape.  We have an appt.. coming up next month for our eye appt. I always try to get mine and DH's together so I can help him get in and out easier. He has a hard time getting into the chair.

Today DH got up and went to the den and sat in his chair till I got up and just watched TV. He usually wakes me if I don't wake up before him. I must have been really tired as I slept in this morning till 11 am.  That's not like me. I washed up, got dressed and went and fixed him some waffles for brunch. My tooth was hurting so took some Advil and laid on couch with an ice pack on my jaw.  I fell asleep on couch and woke up about 5:30.  I must have really been worn out more than I thought.  I really need to get it together.  This tooth is a big set back and I don't have the procedure done till Wed.  I haven't taken antibiotics in many years and now that I am on them, I am wondering if that is what is making me so tired. Getting behind in so many things and I missed my on line Church service this morning that our church does through Facebook.  Though I can go back later this evening and watch the service.  I really haven't taken care of DH the way I needed to today, but he did ok.  He had his water with him but was late taken his meds. He's back on track now, but will be taken his night meds a little later than usual.  His therapy starts tomorrow morning.  Tuesday is voting and a doctor's appt for DH. And then Wed. my root canal. I am sure DH will have therapy again either on Thur. or Friday.

Both of us slept in this morning...8am! LOL  Anyway I fixed a "Sunday" breakfast...biscuits (I just made some drop type) in my toaster oven, sausage gravy, hashbrowns, one egg each, 1/3 cup of granola with yogurt on top, a tablespoon of Elderberry juice in our Orange/Mango juice and then...I had my second cup of coffee.  Went with hubby to the homestead so he could get the underlayment cut (which he did) because he has to cut outside and starting the wee hours, we're supposed to get some ice/snow.  It won't accumulate I don't think because the temp won't be below 34...there may be some slick spots so he'll have to be careful delivery flowers.  While he was working outside I put some of the foods that I have canned into the pantry and took the foods that I had vacuum sealed, upstairs and got them put away in a temporary spot.  He worked upstairs yesterday for quite awhile (it was raining) making room.  The "used to be" living room has a closet, so he cleared the area we had blocked when we leaned the twin bed and mattress up against the wall etc.  The he put a lot of the stuff in that closet.  Made much more room for us to re-arrange things.  Moving forward to being able to get the shelving units up there and the totes onto them.  I've got totes for all of our excess blankets, sheets, towels, Nitrile gloves, summer clothes, and other things we've put back for "just in case" times.  We'll have to put the clear bubble wrap back up because it has slipped, and then we'll put a moving blanket over the windows (two side by side) and then a fleece.  We did that downstairs and it really cuts the cost of heating or cooling!  It's dark but we've not living there yet and we have plenty of lights and lamps. A few trips up and down the steps gave me plenty of exercise!  We've got a wonderful wrap around front porch in front with two comfy chairs and a swing that we can sit on and in the back we have our patio table (on ground cover so no grass) and comfy chairs with an umbrella that we can sit at...and if we want sun we just don't need to put up the umbrella.  This afternoon he went back with a container of hot chocolate and finished putting the underlayment down and I cleaned out the frig and put the dish mats on the shelves.  Fixed supper and now I'm done!  The dishes have been rinsed off and I'll put them in the sink with hot soapy water along with our breakfast dishes.

I have a goal for tomorrow morning to clear off the top of my old dishwasher.  I've used the top for sitting things on (little counter space) and it's accumulated quite a collection.  Also fixed my coffee machine for morning coffee...nice to have it nice and hot when I sit down to watch some of my "God stuff"...music and Bible being read to me while I sit and relax.

:hi: Everyone,

I’m back home.  Storm & Gunny greeted me with uncontrollable enthusiasm.  At least this time, I didn’t have anything in my hands, and was able to return their “love”. DH said he felt the same, but, wouldn’t throng me like they did. :grinning-smiley-044:

MIL is doing very well.  She said she’s learning to clean her house.  It takes her 3 days.  She has had maids all her life, so, this is a learning experience and it gives her activities to distract her loneliness.  Which, after Medicare open enrollment, she wants to come here and live with us until mid-May.  :runcirclsmiley2:  Time to re-arrange things, again, and make the house senior safe.  (Much different than ferret safe, lol.)  I hope to find a shower chair that will fits in our tub.  Last time, I brought in one of the cast iron patio chairs, daily, every time she showered.  It’s a bit heavy, but, sturdy.

While I was in TX, DH & his “boy” replaced another wall socket.  The old one, 1959, was a pain, because, the plugs would fall out if you bumped them.   They are so sweet, and, it is a three prong, grounded plug-in. :cele:

I was able to go to Sam’s in TX.  Found full pork loin straps for $1.50/ lb., beef roast for $3./lb.  Amazingly lower than the prices here in AZ. I will be grinding, mixing, stuffing sausage casings, and smoking a few different sausages, this week. :happy0203:  I’m hoping to get my childhood recipe for pa’tati’skor, (Swedish potato sausage) from my Aunt.  God willing.

The roofers will be delivering the roof shingles, on the 28th, and will install the new roof around the 2nd week in Nov.  I chose a very light color, almost white, energy efficient, with white fletching.  I am looking forward to the new roof.  We had it done over 30 years ago, and some of the shingles are beginning to lift.  Plus, our new homeowners insurance, pointed it out and requires us to replace it, or they won’t insure the house.  :Blushing:

Nice to hear everyone is taking care of things and staying healthy.  :amen:

Time for me to... clean and re-arrange the freezers... then, clean house.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Please don't let post-partum depression sneak up on you.  That happened to me once and I didn't realize why I was so miserable emotionally and physically.  Is there anyone you can ask to help you out or give you a break so you can get some extra sleep or time for yourself? I am praying for you.

Chainsaw Mary & I are working like crazy ladies to get our christmas lights up on all the high places.  I complained to my doc about my left hip and yup it needs replacing - bone on bone - in November.  OK, we can handle that, I guess.  We also finally figured out what is the issue with our auusie, Jack.  He is just super jealous of other dogs paying attention to me.  I am HIS person.  That explains a lot.  And since I have changed my interactions with the other critters to less personal ones, Jack has calmed down and become his usual cheerful self.  That and food aggressiveness, can both be dealt with.  He loves his obedience training - and his short in-house leash has become his "necktie" and he seems to miss it if we don't put it on.  What a difference a few simple changes have made.  We do not free-feed anymore nor do the dogs share dishes.  That takes care of the food aggressive issues.  I make sure I do not pay more attention to other dogs than him.  Solves his problems with jealousy.  And I train with him often, he absolutely loves routine.  I guess there are worse things than having a canine "bodyguard".  I am teaching him to wear a muzzle (insurance if we travel or are in a strainge place).  If he takes to it as quickly as he took to the short intensive control indoor leash, he will probably dance with glee when I put it on, knowing a field trip is coming.  I was sooooo afraid we would have to put him down.  I am sooooooo relieved he is responding positively.  Welcome back, Whiskey Jack!  Good to have you back tp your old self.

Every day, I walked. Let's just get that out of the way. LOL

Friday ran around town and did some eBay shopping at thrift shops.
Saturday, I helped a friend most of the day.
Yesterday was Church, wash dogs, wash dog blankets, wash rugs and swept the house. Then a new women's group at Church.
Today have already PC'd 7 quarts of free chicken (the best kind)! Walked the dogs. Getting ready to inventory the inside pantry. That will be fun---not!

Wed. can't get here fast enough.  My tooth is killing me.  As much as I don't want a root canal done. I am looking forward to it if it takes the pain away.

Took DH to phy. therapy this morning. So now we have exercises to do at home as well as going to therapy twice a week.  It will be for at least 8 weeks.

Today is DH's Birthday.  He is now a young 83 years old. :balloons:  He wanted some of the barbeque I had canned for dinner tonight. So we had barbeque and I bought him an ice cream cake also.  He was loving it.

As soon as I feel like doing something again, I am going to make more barbeque to can. Still have that other boston butt in freezer.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Prayers are still going out to those in need.  Stay safe everyone. They are saying now I heard we could have a third wave.  Wondering if this will ever end.

Third wave? Crimony. Ohio is still dealing with the second wave. And not very well at that. We've had record numbers of new cases daily. D-ex was supposed to fly to Indiana from out west but had to cancel the trip due to the virus. He would have to land in Chicago and they were talking about a two week quarantine for anyone coming in. I don't know if that meant people flying in or not. Either way, Chicago is not a great place to be right now. He hasn't seen son and family all year. I know he wasn't there for Christmas so it was probably in July of 1999. At least they can video chat every Sunday.

Walked first, fed dogs.

I have a London Fog purse/ bag that I bought at a thrift shop for $2. Need to touch up a couple of spots with shoe polish. Second load of laundry is already in dryer. After the purse, all I have to do is write a few eBay drafts.

Our new range was supposed to come today, but has a new delivery date of Nov. 6th. Been almost a month with no oven.

And I'm on straight decaf, hoping that will help me sleep.  I only had one cup early in the morning but...

Waiting for a dentist to call me to schedule an appt. to have that tooth pulled. The dental specialist I was sent to for a root canal, did x-rays and the tooth was cracked on both sides. They could not tell how far. But they don't pull teeth. Would have to go to a dental surgeon for that. So if they did the root canal and started drilling and then the cracks were to far down to save the tooth, I would have been stuck trying to get into a surgeon to pull it as the specialist does root canals but can't pull a tooth. Makes no since.  Sounded like dentist making money on everyone all around. I am so ticked that I have suffered with this pain for this long.  I will be looking for a new dentist as well as he was told at every appt. when I went to have my teeth cleaned that that tooth was bothering me.  But NO, he couldn't find anything wrong though he did x-rays.  the cracks were well defined.  I could have done the root canal and took the chance but he said in about 5 years I would loose the tooth anyway.  So out it comes.

So I have not gotten anything done at home today. But free tomorrow. So might start in a while on the linen closet and get that cleaned out and organized better.  I bought some bags for the extra blankets and sheets I have as well as the extra towels That I might store some where else.  Those are new and has all been washed. Don't want to use those till the older ones wear out more.

Had to chuckle.  We call Abby-girl our "Nanny Dog".  When it's time for momma to prepare for the night, she follows everywhere I go as if to say "come on...it's time to go to bed".  Then when I get up about 7 to have some quiet time, she seems to read the digital clock for 8 am and wakes hubby up...as if to say "time to rise and shine pops...gotta go to work"!  Doggie's are the bestest!

Have a friend who is wanting his daughter and grandchild to move in with him from NYC.  They told him that "when" they load up they have 24 hours to get out of town or they'll quarantine them in the first town they stop in.  He rented a U-haul van and they rented one the same type and size, and they met just outside of NY...then unloaded theirs into his.  Then he returned and rented a storage unit to put their stuff in.  Now I guess she's wanting to work as long as her job will allow her to.  Personally...I'd be out so fast it would make their heads swirl!
