I am getting ready to make raspberry jam and have just measured. I am short one cup of raspberries. Thinking of just using a cup of blackberries to substitute. Do you think it would make a large difference in the taste? I know it would be made the same.

Well, I made the jam but have not tasted it, yet. It looks pretty just not as red as straight raspberry jam. The last batch of raspberry jam disappeared fast because we had company. At one setting, three men wiped out a third of a pint of the jam. Then they snacked out. I sent small jars home with each of them.


Actually, I make a tri-berry jelly that turns out well. Raspberries, Blackberries and Elderberries. Started out because I didn't get enough of any of them to make a batch.
