DIY Firepit

I found a bunch of bricks in the garbage, leveled the area, dug a hole, used a plow disc (harrow) from the desert near one of the fields for the fire, and an old fire pit lid.   

 

The logs were also salvaged from other people’s ‘trash’. 

 

The big big rocks were gathered from a desert wash. 

 

Done. Except for having to weed eater the grass between the bricks. Because of the dogs, we don’t use weed killer.

Not chilly, unless you think low 70’s is cool. 

 

In the summer, I use my Dutch oven in it, that’s about it. Sometimes we’ll lite it for company gatherings.

Cooking out there would sure help in the summer too by not heating up the house.
