2020 Corona Virus

Recommended Posts

As if health officials in China don't have enough on their hands with a spreading coronavirus, now officials announced an outbreak of bird flu.

China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced Saturday an outbreak of a highly pathogenic strain of H5N1 bird flu at a farm in the southern province of Hunan.

The virus was discovered on a farm with nearly 8,000 chickens - more than half of them have already died because of the outbreak.

China is not alone in trying to tamp down the spread of this virus.

Earlier this week authorities in India started culling chickens and destroying eggs to contain the bird flu virus.

And a different strain - the H5N8 virus - has spread throughout eastern Europe in recent weeks.

A bird flu outbreak in China back in 2013 ended up costing $6.5 billion in economic losses, according to U.N. experts.

hey folks it's Patriot nurse join me
00:03
today we're going to discuss updates on
00:04
the corona virus and how its evolving
00:06
and what we can do about it so I made a
00:08
video about a week ago and in that video
00:11
we talked about you know how virus is
00:14
moving how it's affecting people and I
00:17
want to just kind of take a breath here
00:19
and talk some things over with folks and
00:21
just kind of digest the new information
00:22
that's that's been coming down so by the
00:25
time that I get this video out I'm sure
00:26
the situation will unfold it even more
00:29
and we'll have more information that I
00:31
just want to parse through what I've got
00:34
at this point so right now all of the
00:36
data that I've got we're looking at
00:38
about 14,000 officially that have been
00:41
reported as testing positive from the
00:43
Chai comdata
00:44
and yeah I'm going to call it that
00:45
because they're Chinese Communists of
00:47
the official data 304 patients of the
00:50
14,000 positive diagnosis have resulted
00:53
in death of the patient I want to
00:56
discuss some of the rumors and you know
01:00
the the social media fear factor
01:03
regarding the reports of you know people
01:06
dying in the streets and whatnot look
01:08
are the trichomes probably not telling
01:11
us the truth yeah like I am fully
01:13
expecting that they're off to skating
01:15
data I'm fully expecting that they're
01:17
not being forthcoming with evidence they
01:20
have every incentive to to lie frankly
01:23
and that's what totality Aryan regimes
01:25
do is that they lie not only to their
01:27
people but they like to try and project
01:30
a all sleep Oz ative perspective you
01:35
know to the outside world of who they
01:36
are and that they've got all their stuff
01:37
together because really they don't but
01:40
when it comes right down to it what can
01:41
we really do about that not a whole lot
01:42
and there's a lot of fear pandering
01:44
frankly that's going on for various
01:47
different reasons I think a lot of
01:48
people are sharing you posts on social
01:49
media and a lot of people are writing
01:52
articles and sharing articles because
01:54
they generally you'll want to inform
01:56
people but the issue is that I mean I'm
01:59
going to call the old felon in the room
02:00
the prepper community / prepper industry
02:03
the money-making mekin
02:04
for preparedness has been in the toilet
02:06
over the past four years and I think
02:08
there's a lot of opportunism into trying
02:10
and to try and scare people into
02:12
panicking and buying things and that's
02:15
not helpful right what is helpful is
02:17
looking at the facts and encouraging
02:19
people to take proactive steps in their
02:20
own health one of the reasons why in my
02:23
opinion the corona virus is spreading
02:26
the way that it is in China is a few
02:28
different reasons a China is a very
02:29
densely populated country okay their
02:32
populations are centered especially in
02:35
urban areas very very closely packed
02:37
together in very very dense as far as
02:40
hygiene practices in mainland China
02:43
they're not so hot yeah in fairness in
02:45
mainland Asia is is very very challenged
02:48
as far as public health understanding
02:51
and implementation of Public Health
02:52
practices I'll give you an example when
02:54
I was in the indo-chinese Peninsula a
02:55
few years back I was in a major
02:59
marketplace in one of the densest cities
03:02
in that region most densely populated
03:04
cities in that region and one of the
03:06
things they tell Westerners of course is
03:08
not to eat the street food duh but
03:10
anyway I was waiting for a friend and I
03:13
was sitting behind this feller who was
03:16
selling these little deep fried bananas
03:17
with sugar glaze topping and I was
03:19
looking at him back in the day you know
03:21
I was looking at like oh man that looks
03:23
really really good but am I gonna get
03:25
any street food because I want to be
03:27
smart right so I sat down behind a dude
03:30
you know I had a vision of him and so I
03:31
was waiting about 15-20 minutes for my
03:33
friend I watched this dude who was
03:35
selling food to the general public he
03:38
took this bag of Ziploc baggie full of
03:42
sugar that was supposed to be the topic
03:45
for the banana and he like put spit on
03:48
his finger dipped it in the sugar and
03:51
then put it back in and back in and then
03:53
I watched him serve other people like
03:56
the general in suspecting pockets I
03:58
watched him served the general public
03:59
with you know that feedback so this is I
04:03
don't want to say that that's
04:04
necessarily standard based on my
04:06
experience but I could tell you that the
04:08
is abysmal and the marketplace that I
04:10
visited that was also very touristy a
04:14
lot of Western and European tourists
04:16
visited there there were rats everywhere
04:17
it is a filthy place it is it's a filthy
04:20
place and so you have to expect that
04:23
when you have filth when you have a lack
04:24
of general health practices and when you
04:26
have frankly a lack of care for a fellow
04:29
human beings and for personal
04:30
responsibility viruses are gonna spread
04:33
okay now when it comes to who's dying
04:36
from the corona virus the people that
04:39
are dying from this overwhelmingly are
04:40
over 50 years old I'm not saying that
04:43
people over 50 don't matter
04:45
god forbid but let's be real here
04:47
throughout the span of human history we
04:50
have not seen from my reckoning a
04:54
population stratification meaning the
04:57
distribution of ages we have not seen a
04:59
population stratification the way that
05:01
things are currently configured in the
05:02
world right now people didn't use to
05:04
live this long and they certainly didn't
05:06
use to live as sick as long as they live
05:08
now so what's happening is you have
05:11
people that frankly in eternity past
05:14
would not have lived as long as they do
05:16
when they contract this virus what seems
05:18
to happen is that the virus activates
05:19
the inflammatory response of the body
05:22
and it's over activating it so or you
05:25
could make the argument perhaps that the
05:27
people who are dying from it who are
05:29
having these overactive inflammatory
05:31
responses perhaps there is an existing
05:34
level of inflammation in the body
05:35
because of their diet because of their
05:37
lifestyle and the virus comes along and
05:42
essentially people who are sick anyway
05:44
who are just suppressing their sickness
05:45
it just is the nail in the coffin like I
05:48
said I'm not happy about this but I'm
05:50
not for the panic okay I don't think
05:52
panic is good I don't think it's logical
05:53
I don't think it's rational and I'm
05:55
gonna link in the description box below
05:57
I want to link to you a video that is
06:00
from the Horatio Hornblower series with
06:02
yonger food which is an amazing series
06:04
it's family-friendly
06:05
actually a very moral but the episode is
06:08
called the fire ships and there is an
06:10
incident where they have to quarantine
06:13
with plague and I want you to recognize
06:14
something that human beings throughout
06:16
history okay this has not changed no
06:18
matter how Tecna fide and how evolve we
06:20
may be human beings panic throughout
06:23
history whenever they perceive epidemics
06:26
or illness and rationality goes out the
06:29
door it's like the stampede of Buffalo
06:30
okay and so in the prepper community
06:33
people talk about oh the Sheep of the
06:34
Sheep how about we not be the Sheep okay
06:37
because when you when you see all this
06:39
fear it spreads and there's a lot of
06:42
talk about the are not factor which is
06:44
the basic reproductive capability of
06:46
these viruses and how they spread and
06:47
frankly I think that this is being
06:49
parented without people truly
06:50
understanding what the our not factor is
06:52
and it's clinical limitations as a
06:54
metric okay yes I rubbed my nose because
06:58
I just washed my hands life's good I'm
06:59
not gonna worry I'm not gonna live and
07:00
you know I'm not gonna live my life in a
07:03
biohazard bodysuit anyway
07:05
the are not factor you know what spreads
07:08
fat faster than the corona virus or any
07:11
of these viruses fear people talk about
07:14
the are not factor being you know in the
07:15
2 to 4 wheelhouse just depending on what
07:17
we're looking at you know for the corona
07:18
virus I'm not worried about that
07:21
like look at the the flu in the United
07:23
States flu kills far more people than
07:25
the corona virus house measles has an
07:27
are not factor of what 18
07:29
you know what fears are not factors it's
07:31
in the thousands it spreads very very
07:34
quickly and that's kind of the nature of
07:36
human beings we have been genetically
07:37
programmed I suppose because our
07:39
ancestors recognize that fear could mean
07:42
you know X number of times out of 100
07:44
that there's a predator they need to
07:46
flee from hence the stampede and the
07:48
herd mentality but I don't I don't deal
07:51
in fear right I deal in rationality and
07:53
preparedness and proactive thinking and
07:54
I think that's what we should be
07:55
embracing right now the data that's
07:57
coming out that I'm seeing and I believe
08:00
it's the United States cases is that
08:02
there is a definite fecal-oral
08:04
transmissibility that has not been
08:07
previously
08:08
recognized in the past few weeks with
08:10
the spread of the corona virus so
08:12
basically when you go to the bathroom
08:14
wash your hands and I don't care if you
08:16
took a dump or not if you have been in
08:18
the bathroom you need to wash your hands
08:20
and especially be washing them regularly
08:22
when you go into public places because I
08:24
don't have trust factor I don't have I
08:27
don't have a confidence interval that
08:28
people around me are gonna be washing
08:30
their hands I just don't so as far as
08:32
what we can do here basic sanitation
08:35
practices guys continue to wash your
08:37
hands wash them figure Slee and wash
08:38
them multiple times a day make sure that
08:41
you're covering your cough like with
08:43
your elbow not your freaking hands man
08:45
just elbow okay we're something like a
08:48
scarf or a garment we need to be
08:51
limiting the amount of body fluid that
08:54
we are dispersing throughout the air and
08:56
in contact with surfaces we need to be
08:58
regularly disinfecting our food prep
09:00
areas this is one of the things that
09:01
they're seeing as far as a an evaluation
09:05
of the environment and China that seems
09:09
to be spreading the corona virus is that
09:11
you have coding issues okay you have
09:14
ventilation issues you've got you know
09:16
plumbing issues where you have people
09:18
pooping and peeing in very close
09:20
proximity to these food prep areas in
09:22
densely populated areas of urban human
09:26
population concentration so I don't see
09:29
frankly that this is going to be a major
09:32
death toll marker in the United States
09:34
now I'm going to go based on the data
09:36
that I've seen and I'm not going to be
09:38
investing overly in the fear factor the
09:41
paranoia paranoia factor the chat cons
09:43
are lying about the facts I'm sure
09:45
that's nothing is new about that if
09:49
they're going to lie to you about the
09:50
amount of political prisoners that they
09:52
have when you know there are prison
09:54
people for being Christians and for
09:56
exercising their faith do you really
09:57
think they're going to be honest with
09:58
you about a communicable disease of
10:00
course not right so but nothing is new
10:03
about this yeah they're hiding info but
10:05
that's not going to change how I live my
10:07
life I'm gonna wash my hands I'm going
10:08
to have the courtesy to knock off in the
10:10
general direction of people you know who
10:12
are in my immediate vicinity it's not
10:15
hard guys eat well and make sure that
10:18
you're taking care of yourself from a
10:19
sleep wise standpoint you know get
10:21
enough sleep try and make sure that
10:23
you're clean bathe every day yes every
10:26
day you don't have to use soap okay but
10:28
just make sure that you're cleansing
10:29
yourself regularly washing your hands of
10:32
course like we talked about making sure
10:34
to eat a diet that's rich in fresh
10:35
fruits and vegetables and that's low in
10:37
inflammatory inflammatory foods like
10:41
sugar like process dairy just eating
10:44
generally healthy and making sure you
10:46
know just to relax okay you know take a
10:48
big breath in the midst of all this your
10:50
stress stress turns off your immune
10:53
systems capabilities fight-or-flight
10:54
turns off rest digest repair okay
10:58
so just be chill about it okay just be
11:00
smart practice good hygiene the people
11:02
panicking over pandemics and and the
11:04
risk of epidemic that's nothing new
11:06
okay I've got books from the late
11:07
18-hundreds one of them's called the
11:09
history of epidemics and Great Britain
11:10
and this came out prior to two germ
11:13
theory okay was published didn't believe
11:14
it was 1894 by oxford press and it gives
11:17
an accounting of the nature and you know
11:20
the the chronicles of the time from 16
11:22
from mid 16 60s I think up to you know
11:25
the late 18-hundreds when you're talking
11:27
the Justinian plague in the
11:28
Mediterranean with people getting just
11:30
wiped out you know there's a lot that we
11:32
can do now that we've learned since then
11:34
and most of it is good hygiene good
11:37
sanitation practices and overall eating
11:39
well and supporting good health so just
11:41
keep your end the midst of all this guys
11:42
that's that's the best thing to do I
11:45
hope it was helpful free.all if you
11:46
enjoyed the video I hope you'll

11:57
Horatio Hornblower thing I'll try and
11:58
put it up here in a card so that way you
12:01
guys can click on it and see it watch
12:03
that episode the entire thing it's like
12:05
an hour and a half it's called the fire
12:06
ships watch that episode and you will
12:08
see the same repeatable phenomenon that
12:11
are present when people panic in cases
12:13
of suspected pandemics I hope it was
12:15
helpful free all have a great

Patriot Nurse is a good one.  I use the liquid Lysol all the time as well as the spray.  The liquid,, I wash towels and sheets with it. And I put some in dish washer as well as the dishes I wash by hand. Don't use bleach for silverware as it can ruin the finish on them. So the liquid works really well. I started doing that when DH kept getting those chronic sinus infections. Kept me from getting it.

This came from my email and I don't know how to transfer the article to here. But the just of it is from Economic collapse, there are 4 plagues marching across Asia simultancoasly… the coronavirus, African swine fever, HSN1 bird flu, and H1N1 swine flu.

Also if I heard this right that in China they have lost a lot of pigs and chickens to some of these bird flu and what ever it was that is making the pigs sick and dying.  Also heard that the China government is talking of killing off peoples pets, dogs and cats. That part I am unsure of.

Wow, Midnight.  How did you get that transcript?  Interesting.  And common sense......practicing good sanitation goes a long way for any disease.

As for China's OTHER woes....yes, they were losing a lot of pigs a couple months (?) ago.  I don't remember if the type of disease was identified.  Then I heard a tale about bird flu re-emerging just in the past couple days.  Whew!  But it's a very large country so I don't know if some of these things are isolated to just one province/area???  For their sake, I hope they aren't dealing with all of that everywhere.

I'm still hearing that our good ole common flu season this year is wretched bad.  I can certainly testify that OUR version of flu has been nasty in that it hangs on and makes a person so weak.  Can't get strength/stamina back.  DH didn't get the complication of bronchitis and he also isn't "back to normal" yet.  But neither of us was anywhere near dying.  But older and frail folks are dying with our flu season.  Unless CDC is cooking those books.....a LOT of folks dying of flu-related causes.

Which means keep up the extra sanitation practices right here in U.S.A.

Anyone else hearing about this?  It seems harsh that this many deaths from "flu related causes" is treated as a non-issue.  Until this year I'd never heard it was so high.  This year is higher than most, I've heard.  But....???

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/04/asia/coronavirus-japan-cruise-intl-hnk/index.html

[Tokyo (CNN)Japanese authorities are racing to contain a possible outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus after it was revealed that an infected passenger flew into Tokyo and spent a few days aboard a Princess Cruises ship, forcing authorities to lock down the vessel and quarantine thousands of people on board.

The ship, the Diamond Princess, ended its planned 14-day itinerary early and is currently docked off the coast of Yokohama, not far from the Japanese capital. Medical officials are going room-by-room to check each guests' temperature and medical condition, Japan's health ministry said in a statement. Several passengers have reported feeling ill, and the tests to check if they contracted the virus will take four to five hours, the ministry said.
Of the 31 people who have been tested for the virus, 10 cases tested positive for the virus, Japan's Health Ministry said. Authorities are still waiting for the results of more than 100 other samples.
Passengers and crew were initially required to stay on board until at least Tuesday night, but it appears they may be there longer. Japanese health officials said more passengers than expected need to be temporarily quarantined while being tested, and it could take another day to finish the screenings. ]

This is part of the article...the part I highlighted is a bit concerning. Am I reading that right? 31 tested and 10 are positive?

Can you imagine what it would be like if "it" escapes in the cities where the homeless are already spreading filth?  I'm thinking maybe having a good old winter snow/cold would do us good?  Just sayin...?  People tend to stay inside when it's frigid outside so not as much spreading around?  Picked up some more Vit D since I'm staying pretty much inside.  Got enough Magnesium and Echinacea to last us for a month or so, and plenty of Oregano Essential oil and Elderberry syrup as well as Elderberry juice.

Looking now at a video from an insulin-dependent diabetic on the infected cruise ship.  He has not been fed in 15 hours and they do not know when food will next be served.  Which is, of course, why I--who am not diabetic--took food with me the only time I ever went on a cruise ship.  (Man, was I ever laughed at.  But...)

This is from an email I received at work....

As of 1/31 there were approximately 10,000 cases worldwide most of which are in China

There have been approximately 200 deaths I. China

There are 6 confirmed cases in the US only one case has been human to human, none of the US cases have been severe

The incubation period thus far is proving to be an average of 5 days but anywhere from 2-14 days.

I have forwarded the to my personal email and will cut and paste it here tonight.

____________________________________________Edited to add.

This is the email in its entirety...minus the email address and names of sender.

Hi everyone,

The following are bullet points I took away from the CDC COCA call today, if you joined in I apologize for the redundancy.

  • There are approximately 10000 cases worldwide most of which are in China
  • There have been approximately 200 deaths in China
  • There are 6 confirmed U.S cases with 1 being human to human case, none of the U.S cases have been severe
  • Incubation period thus far is proving to be an average of 5 days but anywhere from 2-14 days
  • There still remain a lot of unknowns there has to be a heavy emphasis on Precautions (PPE)
  • There must be an aggressive approach to protect and contain spread
  • Infection Control begins on arrival perhaps before (screening patients when they call for appts, EMS etc)
  • Masking of patients with respiratory symptoms, fever, flu like symptoms should be standard practice
  • Lack of airborne isolation does not negate the utilization of PPE indicated for the patient and the staff
  • Staff should have a high level of comfort doffing PPE so as not to contaminate self
  • At this time there are no recommendations other than routine procedures for environmental cleaning, laundry handling or waste
  • Make sure you have contact numbers at ready access (state/IC/Administrator/Directors)
  • There has been a wide spectrum of clinical illness sometimes vague.  The most common are fever and cough, less common has been diarrhea and sore throat.  Fever may be intermittent and some have not had fever.
  • The hospitalized patients have been ones who came down with pneumonia.  17%-29% developed ARDS and 10% developed a secondary infection.  ¼ of the patients required ventilator support and a small percentage required ECMO support
  • There has been a 11%-15% mortality which has been only those patients who develop pneumonia, there have been 0 deaths of patients who did not require hospitalization.
  • Presenting labs in 1/3 of admitted patients have shown leukopenia, leukocytosis, lymphopenia and/or elevated AST, ALT
  • The 2 resp panels in the US detect the 4 known human coronavirus’s but there is no cross detection for nCov
  • X-rays in the hospitalized patient has shown bilateral pneumonia with unilateral abnormality and ground glass opacity
  • Those with advanced age, immunocompromised, chronic medical conditions have been shown to be the ones at higher risk for severe illness
  • While no pregnant women have been confirmed it is hypothesized that pregnancy is a risk factor for severe illness potential
  • Clinical deterioration is being seen in the 2nd week of illness with lung auscultation suggestive of pneumonia confirmed by x-ray and hypoxia
  • Viral shedding at this point is unknown
  • Viral RNA was detected in blood and in the U.S case was detected in stool
  • Detection of viral RNA does not mean infection with the virus its significance is unknown at this time
  • The key is to identify and isolate
  • Airborne+Contact+Standard+Eye with a mask on the patient
  • Supportive care of any complications (pneumonia)-follow guidelines for CAP
  • There is no treatment or antiviral for the virus
  • Avoid corticosteroids and administer only if for other reason such as COPD or critically ill with refractory septic shock per guidelines….why…because they prolong viral replication in resp tract making disease more severe
  • PPE should be the overall framework of a healthcare system, it should be everyday business for all respiratory illness or other exposure potential cases
  • Masking the patient who arrives with respiratory symptoms is essential and must be everyday business
  • Respirators/N95 are effective for nCov
  • As with all PPE doffing avoid self-contamination
  • Process of PPE, masking of patient, travel hx applies to EMS as well CDC is in process of developing tools however a suspected patient should be masked, with advance notification to receiving facility that a positive contact patient is en route, EMS personnel in the compartments should be with airborne, contact and eye protection
  • Cultures on a suspected patient should not be done in hospital labs, collect samples as per CDC guidance and hold pending State recommendations…protect integrity of samples as directed on CDC guidance
  • Possibility of co-infection (flu and nCov)

Patients treatment plan (home or stay) once they present to emergency room is determined by the local health department if condition permits a choice

These were just the notes I took from the call today so I hope they are helpful to keep everyone updated.   The main point that I took away is be sure you have PPE available at ready access and ease of access in your area at all times not just when something is causing heightened awareness.   PPE is essential to protect yourself and others as well as signage on entrance to rooms to ensure communication to others.  Be sure you know how to doff your PPE without risk of contaminating yourself, this is covered in orientation and yearly when you are fit tested and should be covered and reviewed by your director please do not hesitate to ask if you have questions or would like to be observed doffing PPE.  Have a good weekend everyone, let me know if there are questions and please share this within the organization who may benefit from the notes.

+++PPE = personal protection equipment

WE2, you are so right about colder weather and snow.  If cold enough it will kill off bugs and viruses. At least that is what I have heard. The viruses need that warmer air to survive. It has yet to get cold here long enough to do that. And no snow in sight. Though we are about to get a massive thunderstorm rolling in this evening and even worse tomorrow. Possible straight line winds gust as high as 60 miles per hour and hard rain. Possible tornado maybe.

This just in from USA Alerts,  Multi planeloads of travelers from Wuhan will arrive this week at Travis AFB CA,  Marine Air Stn. Miramar CA, Lackland AFB TX, and Eppley Airfield NE.  It should be on the news sometime today if not already.  This is not good.

Also I heard yesterday that Sentara hosp. in my area is in larging  the ER there and getting ready for a Corina virus pandemic.

These are not good signs. I need to be able also to figure out how to send something from my e-mail to here. I have been receiving good info but can't get it to here.

https://www.zerohedge.com/health/did-chinas-tencent-accidentally-leak-true-terrifying-coronavirus-statistics?

But the biggest hit to the narrative and China's officially reported epidemic numbers came overnight, when a slip up in China's TenCent may have revealed the true extent of the coronavirus epidemic on the mainland. And it is nothing short than terrifying.

As the Taiwan Times reports, over the weekend, "Tencent seems to have inadvertently released what is potentially the actual number of infections and deaths, which were astronomically higher than official figures", and were far closer to the catastrophic epidemic projections made by Jonathan Read.

According to the report, late on Saturday evening, Tencent, on its webpage titled "Epidemic Situation Tracker", showed confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (2019nCoV) in China as standing at 154,023, 10 times the official figure at the time. It listed the number of suspected cases as 79,808, four times the official figure.

And while the number of cured cases was only 269, well below the official number that day of 300, most ominously, the death toll listed was 24,589, vastly higher than the 300 officially listed that day.

corona%20real%20data.jpg Tencent screengrab as of late Feb 1, showing far higher infections.

Moments later, Tencent updated the numbers to reflect the government's "official" numbers that day.

china%20fake%20numbers%20comp.jpg Screengrab showing higher numbers (left), chart showing "official" numbers (right). (Internet image)

This was not the first time Tencent has done this: as Taiwan Times notes, Chinese netizens have noticed that Tencent has on at least three occasions posted extremely high numbers, only to quickly lower them to government-approved statistics.

This is where it gets even more bizarre: contrary to claiming that this was just a "fat finger" mistyping of data, observant Chinese netizens also noticed that each time the screen with the large numbers appears, it shows a comparison with the previous day's data which demonstrates a "reasonable" incremental increase, much like comparisons of official numbers.

This led many in the mainland to speculate that Tencent has two sets of data, the real data and "processed" data.

In short, two camps have emerged: one, the more optimistic, speculates that a coding problem could be causing the real "internal" data to accidentally appear. The other, far more pessimistically inclined, believes that someone behind the scenes is trying to leak the real numbers, as "the "internal" data held by Beijing may not reflect the true extent of the epidemic."

Indeed, as repeatedly pointed out here and according to multiple sources in Wuhan, many coronavirus patients are unable to receive treatment and die outside of hospitals. Furthermore, a severe shortage of test kits also leads to a lower number of diagnosed cases of infection and death. In addition, there have been many reports of doctors being ordered to list other forms of death instead of coronavirus to keep the death toll artificially low.

What is the truth?

We leave it up to readers, but keep this in mind: on Jan 29, Zeng Guang, the chief scientist of epidemiology at China’s CDC, made a rare candid admission about why Chinese officials cannot tell people the truth in an interview with the state-run tabloid Global Times: "The officials need to think about the political angle and social stability in order to keep their positions."

And then, on Monday, none other than China Xi's called on all officials to quickly work together to contain the Coronavirus at a rare meeting of top leaders, saying the outcome would "directly impact social stability in the country."

Well, if China is mostly concerned about social stability - as it should be for a nation of 1.4 billion - it is easy to comprehend why the entire political apparatus in China would be geared to presenting numbers which seem somewhat credible - in light of the barrage of videos of people dying on the street - but not so terrifying as to cause a countrywide panic.

Then again, if China indeed had over 154,000 cases and almost 25,000 deaths as of 5 days ago, then no attempts to mask the full extent and true severity of the pandemic have any hope of "containing" the truth.

Found out there are a lot of cases of this virus in Japan. So not going to funeral home on Friday.  Went on line and signed the guest book. Not going to take that chance. He has family in Tokyo and a few other places and I am not sure which areas has the virus. Hoping they are not carrying it as if they are and don't know it. We will be in trouble here on my end of VA.
