Mt_Rider
Somehow I'm receiving email for a word quiz. I ignored it for a while but then I figured it's just one more way to hold onto my brain!!! Occasionally it's a word I've never heard of.. like today: "Snollygoster" Wonder which century they dug that out of??? Thankfully they provide the answer and further history of the word which is kinda interesting. Answer: The modern equivalent of the word “snollygoster” is an unprincipled person. This is someone who is dishonest, cunning, and unscrupulous with the sole intention of gaining personal advantage. They are likely to take advantage of any opportunity that presents itself, regardless of the consequences to others. They are likely to be motivated by self-interest and personal gain rather than any higher principles or values. They may use lies, manipulation, and other unethical means to achieve their goals. They are cunning and often difficult to confront, as they are usually very good at covering their tracks and disguising their motives. ( psssst.....no this isn't an invitation for political jokes. ) If you want to play, this is the link: https://www.wordstrivia.com/trivia/history/what-is-the-modern-equivalent-of-the-word-snollygoster/results/66bbf1b142d4b040b6cef023 MtRider 4 Quote Link to comment
