My husband and I are in the process of having a wood burning stove installed in our basement. Naturally we are putting up fire wood to be used for the next winter, but one of our concerns is that copperheads and black widows like to make their homes in piled wood. I'm looking for suggestions on how to prevent this.
One idea I had was to lay a tarp on the ground and place the logs in the middle. Then bringing the corners to the top and secure shut ~ only leaving a small opening to allow the wood to breath. I'm not sure if that would even work, but it is all I could think of.
