Stress comes equally from 'good' and 'bad' events.   A wedding is just as stressful as a divorce.  I'll start out by acknowledging my crazy.  I am VERY crazy.   I have a therapist, I have a psychiatrist, I am on medication.   It is a functional issue, not a 'better living through chemistry' issue.  I'm OCD, agoraphobic, social anxieties through the roof, tics, and a few others.   I create some of my own stress because.....I'm crazy.

    Ways I manage it:

    Therapist

Zoloft Rx (seriously the only reason I'm alive.  best treatment for agoraphobia/ OCD!)

    Journaling

Art/ crafting --drawing, painting, crochet, writing, planners (I do the whole decorating with adult stickers thing)

Cooking -- for myself and others.   I love doing things that make other people happy and I'm good at cooking.

Reading -- some for myself and some for the baby.   I used to read one fiction book a day for decades.  Now I do roughly 1-2 non fiction a week and 1 fiction a month.

TV / Movies   I stream videos that I like.  Some kid friendly, some not.  Currently Encanto and Westworld.   I have a love/hate relationship with 'we don't talk about Bruno no no no....'  Bruno is in my dreams.  It used to be 'LET IT GO.......'     Disney is evil and awesome at the same time.

Bath supplies.   salts, bubbles, soaps, scents.   also face masks, etc.

Video games.  Computer and phone.   Animal Restaurant.   Dungeons and Dragons Online, Jigsaw puzzle, Solitaire, etc.

Family game night --Catan, connect 4, Taboo, ping-pong with it etc.

Nature sounds app on phone  --rain and thunderstorm.

If all else fails....Vodka.  Better living through chemistry is the last resort.  :sassing:

Great advice about vodka :D In fact, I stopped drinking it a long time ago, and I have no desire to start doing it again. You have great ways to beat stress, thank you

I have an entirely different perspective and attitude about the "American Diabetes Association" diet. It is very high carb and keeps you on a blood glucose roller coaster! If you don't eat the carbs, you don't need the insulin to "control" the carbs - that is - if you don't create a high blood sugar in your body you won't need to "bring it down" by taking insulin! Then you won't need to have your doc DX insulin or other diabetic drugs and that does not make them (or big pharma) happy at all!

By the way - the method insulin uses to reduce your blood glucose is to turn all that excess sugar into FAT and store it around your middle! And yes, even so called "healthy" carbs (beans, fruit, "complex grains," etc) first have to be turned into glucose before it can be used to fuel your cells. BUT, if you consistently keep your carb intake low enough your body will turn to the fat it has stored "for a rainy day" and use that for fuel. Your body will also switch over to burning dietary fat for fuel. This is the basis/science behind the ketogenic diet. And do not forget to exercise with it!

I would be happy to point anyone interested to a few FB pages, or some YT channels that go into more depth. :bouquet:

I saw this thread and I am interested! You said that you can share links, it would be great for me to know more.

  3. Cutting children's hair is not as scary as adults, hair grows quickly: D To make it easier, you need to wet the hair and comb it very well. It is best to use special scissors for cutting hair, because ordinary ones can wrinkle and damage the hair, causing it to split. The ends of the hair need to be pulled a little and make sure that there is an even cut. To make the haircut look more natural, you can profile the ends, but be very careful

  4. I used to love bright colors until I happened to live in a house where the main color was orange. It was very hard on the psyche. When we turned on the lights in the rooms. white things looked peach. When there was a beautiful orange sunset, the house looked bad in the rays of the bright sun. I agree with others that pale green is a very good color.
