Although those recipes sound great, I'm minimizing sugar and saturated fat so I'll try something different.
About the turkey, I also roast for half the time breast side down, then flip it and finish breast side up. That allows the juices of the turkey to flow into the breast during the first half of cooking and then seal and brown it during the last half. It is a lot of work to flip a turkey but it is worth it! Do this over the (clean) kitchen sink so that any mishap isn't a disaster!

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - Two thumbs (and all my fingers and toes too) way UP!!!!
This stuff rocks. How does this stuff work? "Melamine foam is best known for soundproofing in everything from airplanes to ceiling tiles, but Procter & Gamble has discovered that it can work as a scouring pad, too. It looks like a sponge, but works like an eraser, wearing away as you use it until nothing is left."
It uses no chemicals (just water) and it virtually melts the grime on everything without a lot of scrubbing. It removes all the unwanted junk while leaving the primary surface unharmed.
This product is a necessity for people with small kids or pets. And it's fun to boot! Highly recommended!

Applesauce in bean soup sounds good. My recipe for chicken soup (actually it's my Mother-in-law's recipe) has an apple in it which also adds a touch of sweetness.
I season my bean soup with Bob's Red Mill Bean Seasoning mix.
Bob's Red Mill
I'm lucky enough to live near the mill. The seasoning is great! I just got a pressure cooker and I can't wait to make some bean soup!
