  4. i did a test on olive oil and froze it in a canning jar , took longer for it to freeze than it did to thaw....but it was fine when thawed, and was usable ...so will buy some and freeze it in one of the freezers.....same with crisco and lard, and butter....take care and keep the faith and god bless :clothesline::sheep:

  5. WE HAVE HAD COOLER WEATHER THAN USUAL:: it is finally sunny and 70 and we might get the hay in...and fire wood that has been done for over 8 months just need to get the logs here and cut up and then stacked in wood shed

looks like it could be a nasty winter and fall...next year am hoping it is better and we put in alot of taters to fill the garden up so should have taters for 4 of us for the whole winter, will put 2 pigs in freezer and 1 large calf in freezer and hope to be able to buy some hamburger from a friend if she kills a bull,,,,and maybe a few goats and a llama or two.....think we are the only place along with maine that has been cool in the states..take care and keep the faith and god bless ya all :clothesline::sheep:

  6. have canned pork roast but ya got to trim alot of fat off and then sear it like i do beef roast then stick in oven with some water and then cook at low 300 degrees for a couple of hrs then shred and make shredded barb que pork for sandwhichs and such or do it in chunks.....take care and keep the faith and god bless ya :clothesline::sheep:

  7. iF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT A FARADAY CAGE IS , then read!!! a faraday cage is where you need to put your extra electronics in case of EMP(electirc magnetic pulse) this can be cause by many thing and it will kill all electronics and that includes electronics in cars....but radios , shortwaves , battery chargers for a,aa,aaa,c and d batteries...there would be no electricity and you need to protect what ya got.....you can take a old microwave oven cut off the plug in and tape it and put it in a room to put your electronics in it and radios and walkie talkies and cb radios and what have you.....emps by the way can be caused by man or the sun or other ways...take care and keep the faith and god bless ya :clothesline::sheep:

  8. Here is some things to think about> what would you do to preserve food when there is no electricity???/ caused by an emp or what have you, what will you do if there is a rationing of food , or /and fuel???? do you have enough food put away for over a year and seeds????

What will you do if there are marauders and riots and our economy tanks totally like PIIGS(portugal , italy, ireland , greece and spain) now many Balkan countries?????they are all tied in with us and our economy, whaT WILL you do when forigen countries come on our shores< (by the way many soliders from forgein countries are now here)...what ya gonna do when ya see a drone over head???/when there is a severe drought???/no money?/ stores close?? your family and friends show up to be fed??

have had helios in formation over my house and had other helios land in the old airport that is out side my land and they did not land on the run way but in the grass, it was strange....i doubt and am almost postive they were not american.....3 large helios filled with troops......i wonder now what?????/think hard and long on these questions and get your self ready....take care and keep the faith and god bless :clothesline::sheep:

  9. The U.S.A is in a drought of ungiven preportions....the corn for ethenal (misspelled) for gas is gone and the stupid president is going to compensate farmers for losing their crops...since they were paid for growing it in the first place.....those that have lost their hay will be eatting alot of animals and let me tell yea that beef prices and pork prices will be going uppppppppppppp!!!! there is less grain this year and last year did alot of farmers(*ranchers) in and they sold their herds.....feed lots are full and ranchers are sell calves as small as 400 lbs.....and the prices are up to 2.50 a lb live weight..........so you figure what the price will be when ya buy it from the store.........400 lb calves will stand in feed lots till the lot owner sees the right price and they weight one heck of lot heavier.....400 lb is a calf not a big critter/ so if you can get beef and can it and the same with chicken and any other meat...rabbit, turkey, pork, and any thing else...like deer and elk....with drought the wild critters will be coming in for food and that means chickens and gardens and any animal not locked and secure at night........

this is the first time i have had pigeons by the multitude trying to eat the garden and now crows............we are still cool here and are getting some sun and have a 300% snow fall from last winter.............i am canning and drying all i can get my hands on...so come join me with the canning and drying ......buy lids and jars NOW!!!!!!!! take care and keep the faith and god bless all :smiley_shitfan::clothesline::sheep:

  10. am back and am apologizing for not being here much

in the last year.....it has been a busy one and have been working ,,,,i now teach on JMR...just measure radio 7 hrs a week and it takes alot of time....but i am not leaving my first love here at mrssurvival.....i will just have to make room for it ......loves and hugs to all and i have learned so much in the last year

so i will start the story up again and i will start putting things here ...... :clothesline::sheep: mom

  11. if you like the PBS specials like Frontier house, 1900 house and 1940's house then go looking for the one made before these that was 2 couples, in canada and they had to go and then start nothing was really done for them......they did not really have lessons taught to them and no houses or barn built for them ...and they were there from wet, snowy spring till after the snow flew...to me it is better.....it is called" pioneer quest" or prairie quest......it is on line where you can buy it

take care and keep the faith and god bless ya

  12. since it is spring , and the commodities market is going crazy...first populace of cattle and pigs are down and now with tornadoes and it has ruined turkey farms and probably chicken farms....don't know about commerical pig raisers.....grain prices are upppppp and will keep going up as there is a sevre shortage of grain , first Texas has had fires and it is hot and their crops are not to good, second Washington state where the fruit and wheat is grown is cold and will make the harvest late this year and it might not be to great either , with grain pices going up and gas prices rising it will make the feed for stock higher which will in turn make meat and milk and eggs and all the other stuff that goes with that go up in price....with wheat and oats and corn going up cost of eggs , meat and all baked goods going up...then there is a shortage of cotton and it is higher in price right now than it was after the civil war when there was none....wool will go up as new zealand is getting rid of theirs and switching to dairy farms and with austarlia with all the flood welll it is a grim out look for the year tooo come ......so i suggestandmind you i suggest you all take a look at what ya got.....take care and keep the faith

This is one area that I am totally lost in. This information will be a tremendous help.

I do have one question regarding the Mucinex. Walgreens has a *generic* Mucinex that is much less in cost. I think that it was under $10 for 60 tablets with 400mg of guaifenesin. Mucinex has 600mg and comes with 20 tablets. Do you think that the *generic* is a viable option? I am not asking to be a pain or contradict any of you advice. I have little to no knowledge of meds and value your advice.
