Oh Sue, my prayers are with you and your family. I know, oh so well, how hard the emotional ups and downs of cancer can effect the entire family. I pray peace and comfort for you and healing for your husband. Beverly

freeze dried equivalent chart
NanaX2 replied to windmorn's topic in In The Kitchen-The Heart Of Our Home
oh, nice chart! I'll be printing it off too. I buy from Honeyville but never ran across that chart. Thanks so much! -
I'm so glad to hear of the progress she has made! As you take care of her, be sure to take time to take care of yourself. I know that seems impossible right now, but even treating yourself to a new book or a special snack helps to keep you going. Blessings to you and your Mom.

need spiritual advice regarding church pledge
NanaX2 replied to NanaX2's topic in Streams In The Desert
Thank you all for the thoughtful responses! I knew the Godly women of this forum would give me Biblical advice. I need to ponder upon this now and continue praying to make my final decision on this pledge. My church is wonderful and huge but almost all my friends go there and my other friends know the ones from my church and I just felt I should not turn to them with this issue. thanks also for the sympathy and support. It is a terrible thing to lose your spouse, I just feel so alone even though my 2 children and 2 granddaughters live nearby. I know he is heaven, on that fact I stand -
I've not been on the forum in quite a long time. My darling husband of 35 years passed away in August, after an 11 year battle with cancer . The last 5 years have been especially difficult. Here is my question: We, as husband and wife, with him as the breadwinner, made a large pledge to our church building fund. The pledge payment time was to last 3 years. However, now that he has passed away, I'm conflicted as to whether to give the final remaining amount to the church. I planned to give it, but when I called the church to find out the amount we still owed, the minister of administrati

I haven't been on here for a long time, but I'm back with a question. I've come across Ball glass jars that have the word" freezer" embossed on the sides. Does anyone know what these are? Can they be used for regular canning? Thanks for the help!

I've canned pork tenderloin before but am wondering if ham will work being canned? If so, do you bake it as normal and then can it? I looked in the Ball book and didn't see ham listed and I checked So Easy to Preserve and ham was not listed specifically but general pork is listed. Ham is on a super sale this week and I did want to take advantage of it , if possible, Thanks for your assistance!

Dewayne begins clinical trials tomorrow. The trial drug will be combined with chemo he has previously had(that did not work). The drug is supposed to make the regular chemo work better. We are praying that it works. He did not qualify for the first trial , so this is the second one he tried to get in and of course, did. It has been 3 months since he last had any chemo so he is sort of dreading the yuck again. Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks, Beverly

Red flags for an arrived crisis - Part 17
NanaX2 replied to mommafitz's topic in Are You Really Ready?
I went to Hobby Lobby this week with my little 40 per cent off coupon intending to buy a large bottle of lamp oil, but to my surprise they were totally out! The cashier said they had really been selling a lot of it lately! That to me is a big red flag, because usually there is dust on the bottles when I buy it -
Wow, what a turbulent start! I'm so grateful that the site has survived and grown to what it is today. I've been here(long time lurker ) for almost 2 years. Thanks so much for all the info, I've learned so much and feel that although I can never prep enough, I am getting there.

Here's the lastest in our saga! We went to Vanderbilt yesterday and the doctor we saw was wonderful. He really put us at ease and explained that there are 3 available clinical trials that Dewayne could do. There is one that the doc is very interested in for Dewayne, so that is the one we are trying to see if he qualifies for. They have to send a tissue sample for testing, DNA and such, and if the sample fits the criteria for this clinical trial, we will go with it. The doc says it is having good outcomes. We hope to hear the results within 10 to 14 days. This trial is a level 2 to it has had

Thanks to all for remembering us! We are just waiting for the time to pass before we go to Vanderbilt. Dewayne continues to feel well, but tired. All the recent chemo has taken a toll on his stamina. We do hope this bit of a break from the chemo will help build him back up before the clinical trials begin. We look for blessings every day and continue to put our faith in our heavenly Father, He knows our hearts. Beverly
