When I made blueberry pie filling, there was about a half cup leftover. We were forced to go buy a cheesecake to go with it.

Finally got around to the blueberry pie filling -- it is exquisite! Lemony, with a pinch of nutmeg.

Blueberry peach jam and peach rhubarb jam.
I think I put too much sugar in the peach rhubarb jam. Live and learn.
Hubby sez the Clear Jel arrived in the mail this morning. Blueberry pie filling tonight!

Still making applesauce of every variety -- grape, cranberry, cinnamon and spiced, and pear. The spouse is ravenous for the stuff!

How Do You Know if a Canning Book is Legit?

Not all the recipes in the small-batch preserving book are for canning; some are for freezing, etc.
That's too bad. You're missing out on a lot of good recipes and ideas from places like Better Homes and Gardens, and from other authors who do publish recipes tested for long-term safety.
