Guest Guest
Does anyone have suggestions on how to go about researching this? In my family there's a story that my grandmother was 100% American Indian. I'd like to check it out, but have trouble with the traditional Anglo methods. sg Quote Link to comment
logcabinmama
Seldie, the name might give you a hint as to if she was indian. Also, birth certificates should have what she was. Like the birth certificate of your mom, or dad, whichever she side she was on. Also, cheek bones are another way to check it out. There is a site we have had on here before, I'll see if I can find it for you. Go to some of the places where you can put in queries and ask for information on, and give her name. If anyone has information, they usually answer. Quote Link to comment
Guest Guest
Snowmom, thank for the links. I'll check 'em out and let you know if I find anything. I already have the link to cyndislist, I think, but not the others. sg Quote Link to comment
Guest Guest
I've got a picture of my gggrandfather. I've got his very high cheekbones and 'sunken' eyes so maybe I have American Indian in me too. That woul be nice. Quote Link to comment
Guest Guest
I do have a picture or two of my grandmother, and she does look like an old squaw! No disrespect intended, grammaw. I would so love to find my Indian relatives, if I have them . . . sg Quote Link to comment
