It looks to be a sim group ( writers guild ) for people who enjoy writing and participating in live writing story lines ( called a SIM ) in the " Federation " style of Role Playing Games.Though I have never seen one that asks for money.Also as a "Star Trek " webmaster there are some things the newbies better change about their site.There is no disclaimer naming Paramont or Gene or "Star Trek" the sole owners of "Star Trek" and related materials. Such as "Ten Forward". AOL used to sponser a Chat room with that name and Paramount and "Star Trek" persued legal action to have it removed. And yes they won, the chat room no longer exists. I made sure to ask permission from all before posting materials on the web because of copyright, trademarks, and patents on names and graphics and so on. Anyway , if you wish to join a sim group, surf around, find several, compare, ask questions, Really examine their websites and NEVER pay money to join. Sim groups can be quite fun if you get in with some imaginative people who can write in " Star Trek " terms. I myself have enjoyed the Klingon sims I have participated in and commanded.
