logcabinmama
Another tip from 'Emazing' SUBSCRIBE TO A SURNAME MAILING LIST One method for expanding your research reach is to subscribe to a mailing list for one of your surnames. Mailing lists are composed of people who share an interest in a common topic, be it a surname, a country, a county or an ethnic group. You subscribe by sending an e-mail, and then you receive a copy of every e-mail sent to the whole subscription group. You can then respond to the individual or post a message to all the subscribers. The largest collection of surname mailing lists can be found at the RootsWeb site's mailing list page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/surnames/index.html Be sure to read their "About Mailing Lists" http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/#about and "How to Subscribe and Unsubscribe" http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/#subscribe for more information. - George G. Morgan Sometimes it really is a big help to be on the lists. Others who are looking for the same people you are share what they have. I have been on many lists. ------------------ Quote Link to comment
