logcabinmama
This is from Emazing Tip of The Day. Dutch and German Translations I recently received an inquiry from a reader who wanted to translate ancestors' writings from German to English and Dutch to English. Hiring a professional translator can be an expensive proposition. One helpful resource for the German-English translation is Babelfish, a translation facility of the AltaVista search engine at http://babel.altavista.com/translate.dyn . Type the German text into the upper (text) box, and select translation from German to English. The result will never be perfect, but it will give you a good representation of the meaning of the German. (You can also select translation of any German Web page into English by entering the Web address.) As for the Dutch, AltaVista has a Dutch version of its Web site too, and the Dutch version of Babelfish is at http://nl.altavista.com/trns . You will want to translate from "Duits naar Engels" to accomplish what you want. Using these and standard translation dictionaries, you can probably make some real headway. - George G. Morgan Hope this helps someone. ------------------ Quote Link to comment
