Perhaps a list can help to tailor some preparations; - Hurricane (days-weeks or more) - Flood (days, perhaps weeks) - Blizzard/Ice Storm (days) - Volcano (SIP doubtful) - Avian flu (12-18 months) - Tsunami (days) - Nuclear air burst (months) The type of disaster will greatly affect the breadth and scope of preparations.
