  1. I have several of the Wal-Mart specials and 1 American Harvest/Gardenmaster. Love the American Harvest one. It's got 8 trays (can hold up to 12) and a thermostat. Each tray came with a plastic grid AND a fruit leather sheet. I rarely use the Wal-Mart ones now. I love the thermostat option. I guess you could consider the American Harvest to be a mid-grade model.

  2. GG, you're in luck! I had an old hand grinder still in the original box that I got 'somewhere' along the line. It's been sitting in a cabinet for who-knows-how-long! I just checked and it's a model 303 with instructions. If you'll give me a couple of days, I'll get the pages scanned in and sent to you. Please PM me with your email address and I'll get you the manual soon as I can! :)

  3. Adding my agreement with being able to freeze them. Back when I purchased them, I would usually leave them in the store package and put that into another ziplock. They are fairly easy to separate out while frozen. Good tip from Annarchy about oiling the corn ones to help with cracking!

They are very easy to make from scratch, so now I just make them as we want them. After tasting the first batch, DH declared that we wouldn't be buying them again.... :)

  4. Would you be able to dehydrate previously frozen blueberries without cutting in half or blanching? I'm thinking the freezing swelled the berries and split the skin just as blanching or cutting would do? I've got lots of last year's berries still vac packed in the freezer - dehydrating would be a great option to free up space!
