5th graders mama
I'm posting my favorite poem here in self defense, because every time I see "memorial to Fran" on the main menu tears come to my eyes and I feel sick... sort of sorry I made it pop back up there. So... to replace it... If of thy Mortal Goods thou art bereft, And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left, Sell one, and with the dole Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul. the Gulistan of Moslih Eddin Saadi Link to comment
ozzzyyy
I was glad to see Fran's memory brought back up. She was such a blessing to this community and thinking of her again makes me want to keep on! Mamacat, I need your help! May you tenderly explain what this poem is saying? I am dense or not grasping it. Who is the author? I have read it over and over again and I don't understand the wording or old english. Link to comment
5th graders mama
It is translated from Iranian, so this is my best guess. If of thy Mortal Goods thou art bereft Sell one and with the money you get Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul He was a shiek and muslim poet. I think that his is title, rather then an name.
