5th graders mama
I would be surprised if most of the MrsS folks would do any other way by their compassionate natures… but it is on my heart to say this out loud. I live in an area where stray and feral cats and dogs are a reality – our “humane” *coughing loudly* society opened a “shelter” *coughing REALLY loudly* 2 years ago. The first year they took in more than 1100 cats. They were able to adopt out 297. Do the math for the cats alone that were euthanized here in a rural Kansas county. I am not here to preach about spay and neuter. My request is really simple. If you hit a “pet” sort of animal with your vehicle, please do not assume it is an unloved stray just because it was on the road. Stop for just a minute and pull it over to the ditch or shoulder. It is hard enough to bury our furbabies. Struck once is usually deadly and the result of a broken neck, it is what happens later, as more vehicles go by that makes it beyond awful to say goodbye.
