Guest Guest
When you do family tree research on the Internet, there is one name that consistently shows up—either as a direct ancestor, a cousin, or an uncle. Because this name shows up so often, some people think that we genealogists are ‘faking ‘ our research. However, as I always tell my daughter, “Way back than, only royalty kept track of who their ancestors.” After all, the ‘common people’ couldn’t read or write and were too busy surviving to worry about whom their ancestors were. Who is this person who is related to all of us? Why, the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, of course, who was born in 742 and died about 813. Quote Link to comment

Linda
I have always been interested in doing the family history... and had been told that we have royal blood. So now when I get up set with some people I tell them they can 'Kiss my Royal' ... still working on proving the royal part Quote Link to comment

logcabinmama
We need to find our connection to Robert E. Lee and then we could go back to Queen Elizabeth. We have always been told that our DD was a 5th or 6th cousin to Robert. We just haven't found the connection yet. Quote Link to comment
