Hi, bluebell! Packages can contain anything you think a soldier would find useful, as long as it is not a forbidden item.

Here's a short list of items, in no particular order, to give you an idea...

cookies

powdered drink mixes

jerky

hard candy

chewing gum

cup o soup

flashlight

batteries

music Cd's

books

magazines

newspapers

pens

pencils

paper

envelopes

prepaid telephone cards

deodorant

feminine hygiene products

combs

hand wipes

foot powder

shampoo

And of course, a simple card or letter is always welcome.

As an example of forbidden items, a couple of my adopted soldiers were stationed in Iraq. They could not have pork products. Therefore, when sending jerky, I made sure I sent only beef.

I have absolutely no problem with this rule. I expect visitors to the US to obey US laws, therefore, it is only right that visitors to other countries obey the other countries laws.

Anyway, thank you for asking! I hope this short list will give you a few ideas. smile
