ol'momma
We had a high wind warning yesterday. NWS was calling for sustained wind speeds of 37mph through the afternoon. The weather guy at the local airport reported that he was recording sustained speeds of 70+mph, and gusts of over 100mph. Guess the weather service was wrong... The emergency service guys were kept running to downed power lines, clearing blown down trees and limbs, and vehicles blown off the road. This "Was" a camper trailor that got caught by a cross wind on the highway. And just one of the trees that went down around town. Link to comment

ol'momma
Wow! Did it give you any grief around your place? Be careful! We're fine. We lost a few shingles on the shed roof, but otherwise we had no damage. Actually, wind storms of this nature are pretty common during hte fall here. What's suprising about this one is that it is rather late in the season. We generally have a good breeze or two in Mid- Oct. Link to comment
