That is far away, but better than the other orders (Iraq or attachment to a Marine unit) that were available. He is a hospital corpsman in the Navy, so if he is with a Marine unit, he goes where they go. He also just received a promotion. He was the only one in his class to be promoted this time. mrszouave Posted May 8, 2004 Share Posted May 8, 2004 My marine nephew is in Okinowa too.....he's been there for 4 months....he Was headed for Afghanastan but got sent there instead.....big relief.......
