It's good to be back

Just to update folks on my whereabouts...

I moved to Payson to be with my mom for several months. To finance myself while there I took a teaching job for quite a bit less than what I earned here in the big city. Meanwhile, my house here was not getting remodeled so I could sell it. Funny how being a hundred miles away gets in the way of painting and fixing! Anyway, in March I was hired by the state for much more than I could make in Payson, so I'm back here for awhile. I'm hoping to have this place done and sold before Christmas. Then it's good-bye bills, good-bye big city, and hello country! We are still anticipating selling mom's place (it's in town and we can't really do what we want) and buying rural property in the Northeastern part of the state.

Life is good and getting better!

It's good to see you back on the porch!

Know exactly what you mean about being 100 miles from a house that needs fixing. Before we moved back to this house we were that far away and rented it out. Between renters and/or severe renter damage we would "camp out" here. We'd try to bring all the tools/supplies we needed but seemed like endless trips to the hardware store. I wish you well on selling both houses and getting the kind of property you want. Will you continue to teach where you are until those things happen? Hmmmmm. Did you say sweet tea and carrot cake?

I quit a teaching job to take the job I have now with the state. I'm currently a 'water resource specialist'. In other words, I audit the water use reports submitted to the state water resource agency by water providers such as cities and private water companies.
