Sounds like it was mostly driver error.
He's going to need lots of prayers as well. That's going to be hard to live with.

It sounds like everything was working properly and the train horn did sound. They just didn't get off the tracks.
All 4 deceased were the Heroes, one of whom pushed his wife off the trailer, probably saving her life.
My husband said there were 4 failures here:
1) They planned the parade across the tracks (there is only one location where you can cross the tracks without actually crossing the tracks in town - an underpass in the middle of downtown).
2) They didn't tell the railroad about it.
3) The truck did not leave enough room to get off the tracks before getting on the tracks.
4) The truck did not get off the tracks by any means necessary, even if he had to ram the vehicle in front of him.

I think my only suggestions would involve sea salt, garlic, and rosemary.
Chickens are on sale for $.79/lb. I'm thinking about going and getting a few, since we now have a freezer.

It might still be residual. It sometimes takes them a few days to clear a site again.

*hugs*
You can do it.
You are worthy of a decent job. Don't let anybody else convince you otherwise.

Here we go!
- The refrigerator will keep food safe for about 4 hours if it is unopened. A full freezer will hold the temperature for approximately 48 hours (24 hours if it is half full) and the door remains closed.
So...I'd say chunk the fridge stuff and keep the freezer stuff if you kept them closed.

Is the Shoutbox out for the moment? The link won't load for me.

Did you open the fridge or freezer during that time?

This happened in my city: http://www.cbs7kosa....ls.asp?ID=38997
A train hit a truck during a parade honoring veterans.
One article says that the train company says that the lights and gates were working and that the train sounded its horn, but that's not what the local people are saying.
Still wondering what happened...

I guess our cashier was trying to hurry the line because she handed one of the coupons back to the customer and said it was expired. The lady handed it back and said, "Yesterday" and the cashier actually used it.
That irritates me. Stores are more likely to start deciding it's not worth their time to process coupons if customers abuse them. The store may not be able to get paid for that coupon now.

I don't use a recipe. I've discovered that I don't like the flavor of pork bones in mine (that batch got dumped, it was nasty).
I toss in the carcass/bones, dump in water until it's covered and about an inch below the top of my crock pot, toss in a spoonful or two of lemon juice, turn it on high until it boils, then leave it on low until about the same time the next day.
I cooked it down afterwards last time (reduced it) to about 1/3 of the volume, and it's delicious and takes up much less space in my freezer.

Woohoo!
Thanks, y'all!
FYI, we still have all the smilies. That's the important part, right?

Most of my recipes are for pumpkin fudge, since I'm a pumpkin fiend. However, none of them don't use butter, and some of them could be entirely from storage. Quite a few do use coconut though, because I tend to look for recipes that are Paleo-ish. Note that some of these sites may involve some mild cussing.

After you get the ducts clean, see about getting some zeolite granules to put in them. They reduce contaminants.
Where do you put them? And where do you get them?
-
That's good news with him being able to check that out, and that it's a hold he'd have to make anyway for the cabinet, and that the air duct cleaning is not all that long away. One step closer to having this taken care of for you is always a positive.
I wonder if it could be even something related to a filter or something in the actual workings of the a/c unit itself even? Just tossing that out there as an idea because when we took out window a/c unit out, there was some mold starting to grow in there. I am not sure how central air works, but I would think it has to have hardware and filters of some sort, they may be worth checking as well, esp. since you feel better when the a/c is off.
I hope that it's remedied when the cleaning is done so you can feel better, and not have the worry and expense looming like that anymore.
We are changing the filter every month, as the doctor advised me to do after the last bout of pink eye. They are cleaning the mechanical stuff as well. They says it's 100% cleaning efficiency, but for some reason I'm a tiny bit skeptical on that. I said something about wondering why it just started affecting me lately; my husband looked at me like I'm crazy and said that I've been tired and getting sick ever since we moved into the house. Hopefully this will do the trick!

We cut a hole above the toilet (hubby's going to put in a medicine cabinet anyways...). Can't see anything in there but dust and fuzzies. I'm assuming the black woven cloth (yes, I can see that it's woven, not a carpet of mold) is insulation or the vapor barrier?
We're going to get a petri dish from Home Depot tomorrow and let it hang out in there to make sure it's not mold.
I have an air duct cleaning scheduled for November 20 (that's when we'll be able to afford it, and leave the house for a few days to let things settle if need be).
I've been doing fine the last few days, but I've been turning the AC off during the day and it's been cool enough that it doesn't run much at night.
-
Jeepers, Turtle, and Mt_Rider have all said they're having those issues.
Mine's fine.
What browser are y'all using, and what operating system?
-
The other thing to consider is, do y'all live in different areas? Could humidity/temperature make a difference?
-
1) It says to cool things, but never says how much to heat them up.
2) I've never seen an icing recipe with flour and granulated sugar in it...it would need to be hot enough to completely dissolve the sugar, and that's not in the directions.
Those are just my opinions. They may or may not be valid in this situation.

The site that Philbe posted says that Ace carries fire bricks. The Rutland ones are $19.99 for 6, delivered to your local store. That's at least cheaper than at Home Depot!
-
OK, So, the general consensus seems to be flat out do not use concrete bricks, but the red clay bricks are just fine if you're okay with a bit of flaking. Otherwise, fire bricks are the only way to go.
-
It's alright to use red clay bricks, but they might flake.
-
This one seems to say that it may crack or peel eventually, but the big problem is that they can absorb water: http://www.ehow.com/...rete-brick.html
Here's a site focused on building traditional ovens that says the red clay bricks are just fine and how to tell if they'll work: http://www.tradition...ick-alternative
The second has another place where they're discussing the concrete bricks, and the consensus seems to be a resounding NO.
That being said, it might be fine for short term use.
Still searching!

I picked up a turkey at $.55/lb and 2 chickens at $.77/lb. The turkey is frozen, so it went into the deep freezer for now. The chickens are thawed, so they'll get tossed into the crock pot tomorrow, picked clean once they're cooked, then I'll leave the carcasses in until the next day to make some bone broth.
