Small Batch of Pickled Beets. Decided to try preparing the beets in my new Electric Pressure Cooker. A couple experiments and it seems that 15 minutes is ideal for my cooker and skin almost fell off. Never again will I prepare beets using the *long* methods and I'm encouraged now to buy beets more often when they show up at my Farmers Market.

Congratulations on finding a better method for beets! I did them last summer for DH and I told him if he wanted them he could do them. YUCK! What a big purple mess!!!

Crockpot Ribs (picked up on sale awhile ago & mac and cheese

DH did 20 Pts of corn. Poor guy. Next year will be better.

40 pts green beans. Need to do one more bushel to feel comfortable.

6 gallon bags of green beans

DH is doing the bulk of the canning this season because of the baby (but I'm helping).

42 pts of dilly beans. Another bushel of green beans in the fridge to be pressure canned.

Would you mind sharing the BBQ sauce recipe?

I'm doing 4 pints of Raspberry Chipolte BBQ sauce, some pickles and very likely something gooseberry related. I hope to do some rhubarb ketchup tonight too but i'm out of jars! pfft!

Does the celery get soggy in the soup?

Today it is celery, chopped and placed in pint FoodSaver bags for future soups and such.

We planed two cherry trees in May and we are in Northwest Indiana (I think the drive is 3 hours give or take to MIL)

Started blueberries, corn and rhubarb. I should have to buy rhubarb next year because my plant is doing so well.

2 gallon bags & a gallon bucket of strawberries. Need to put the rhubarb and put it up.

Walmart had 2 packs of kids toothbrushes for $.75 a pack. Cleaned them out (8 packs). I think that is going to get the two of them 8 months of toothbrushes each. Will check back on Friday to see if they have restocked them. Ran to our W-mart to see if they had them. They were sold out but they had them marked at $.97 a pack. So I'll run to the other one when we go to Costco and Sam's on Friday.

Well, the plan was chicken soup but I don't like the way the chicken pulled apart or cooled. So I think the chicken will be for sandwiches and dinner tonight and I'll just can the broth & try again.

2 qts of pear sauce

1 qt and 2 pts of pear sauce. There is a half bushel still in the garage and will bring another bushel home from my sister's house today.
