  1. Nichole- it is late. We had several farms up here not open because they don't irrigate. The two I use by our house have fields. The one was dobe by the 4th and bringing berries in from Michigan. The other one, where I picked up berries from yesterday, have fields a couple of counties to the east of us. They were the last of the berries from the cooler. Running out in the morning and will pick up bananas to make a couple batches of banana blueberry muffins (half will make it in the freezer, I hope

  2. That's awesome!

I picked up a 5 lb box yesterday. They said it's the end of what was in the cooler. I think I put up at least 4 gallons of them. Hope that's enough for the kids to make it through the winter/spring.

  3. Finished DS1's hat. Need to get different sized needles to start scarf.

TMC - I'm waiting for the quilting shop to post there July class schedule....... I'll probably run in Monday after going to the knitting shop for needles and yarn for DS2's hat and scarf. They are starting a sock class, I'm trying to work into my schedule.

  4. I nearly have DD's scarf finished (finally). I'll post photos when I'm done of the hat and scarf. Will start a set for DS1 next.

I need to decide if I should just bite the bullet and take a quilting class or if I should look at the next knitting classes offered (or a sewing refresher). Taking the kids to the library tomorrow, DS1 wants a book on pirates, so I'll look for a beginners quilting book and see if I can make heads or tails of it.

  5. Just took the trash to the curb, it's lightening like crazy. Praying for the rain.

I talked to the neighbor behind me this afternoon. He said the power plant he works at had a partial shut down because the river is so low. Not sure if they are still on the shut down. There are sandbars in the middle of the river. I grew up there and have NEVER seen a sandbar in the river.

  6. Light, quick rain this morning. Kept reminding myself it's better than no rain. We had a 65% chance last night and nothing. We have 40% chance tonight and 60% tomorrow and tomorrow night. I'm watering the garden everyday or other day (no bans, yet) but have given up on the yard and flowers.

The garden is doing a little better because I was a little heavy handed when I put the straw down (who knew it would be a good thing now).

Harvested my garlic today and have almost a bucket of blackberries. Harvested some various peppers yesterday. Need to check the beans but it's to hot.
