ToAutumn
I read last year how a study done by John Hopkins University showed that elderly people (over 55) who have taken the shots for 5 years in a row are ten times more lible to develope altimer's (sp). My father and stepmother have been faithful in getting theirs for the last 10 years, dad is to the point that sometimes he knows us kids but most times not. It's painful to watch. I personally have never had one because I had histoplasmosis as a child and have a calcified spot on my left lung because of it, it is the virus that is an allergic reaction to bird feathers, and the flue vaccine is made from chicken eggs. My family was one of the few in the early 70's who had to get rid of our feather pillows, and down comforters because of me. I'm not allowed to have a bird of any sort in my home and cannot raise chickens or any other food bird on the chance it could activate the spot on my lung. Link to comment
