Chai Tea Mix

Recommended Posts

Let me start by saying I absolutely love a cup of hot chai tea!! And this recipe is soooo good! I made up a huge batch of this chai tea mix, put it in lots glass jars with pretty ribbons and gave them out as gifts this year for Christmas. Everyone loves it.

Chai Tea Mix

Ingredients

1 cup nonfat dry milk powder

1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer

1 cup French vanilla flavored powdered non-dairy creamer

2 1/2 cups white sugar

1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea

2 teaspoons ground ginger

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

Directions

In a large bowl, combine milk powder, non-dairy creamer, vanilla flavored creamer, sugar

and instant tea. Stir in ginger, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. In a blender or food

processor, blend 1 cup at a time, until mixture is the consistency of fine powder.

To serve: Stir 2 heaping tablespoons Chai tea mixture into a mug of hot water.

Note:

You may choose to omit the French vanilla creamer, and use 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

instead. To do so, mix the vanilla into the sugar, let it dry, then break the sugar into small

lumps. Follow the same procedure as above.

CHAI TEA CONCENTRATE

1 tsp. ground cardamom

1 tsp. granulated sugar

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. cloves

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

(If you prefer a less sweet tea, use unsweetened condensed milk, and add sugar to taste

when tea is served.)

Mix the spices and condensed milk thoroughly. Refrigerate at least 24 hours before using,

and store in refrigerator.

To use, brew a strong black tea. Stir in 1/2 to 2 heaping teaspoons of Chai concentrate

mix per cup of freshly steeped tea.
