momahen
Is this right? I can use one of my "regular" recipies to can with...as long as there isn't any dairy in it? And then I process it according to the directions of the "longest" ingredient? For instance, my beef barbeque: it has ketchup, salt, onions, worch. sauce, etc. and cubed beef. I pressure can it using the directions I have for cubed beef? Keiko Link to comment
Guest Guest
BINGO! You got it! I make my own recipes, and can according to the ingredient that requires the longest processing time, i.e. usually a meat product...so the potatoes and carrots and other veggies are just gonna hafta deal with being in the canner somewhere between 75-90 minutes...lol Link to comment
momahen
Woohoo! Is there anything that takes longer to process than meat? This pressure canning stuff is easier than it appears! Link to comment
Guest Guest
Off the top of my head, fish products and dry beans tend to require similar processing times as meats... Come on ladies, I'm tired right now and can't think straight...what else takes longer processing times? Link to comment
