Ginger - the root, not our friend

Ginger, when I re-read that title it looked like the root wasn't our friend so I was relieved that you understood what I meant!

Pixie: When I was first pregnant I had horrible morning sickness. In those days all they told you was to eat dry crackers but in my case I didn't even know I was pregnant- thought I had flu. I was working and every morning (in the early months) exactly 20 minutes before my scheduled break I had to call my relief employee so I could dash to the bathroom. I used to like to get chicken boullion from the vending machine in the lunch room and during that time it made me feel absolutely nauseous. I'm glad to say after a couple of years the chicken bouillion no longer bothered me.

I like ginger tea when it's cold out. It has such a nice warming effect. I've also heard it's easy to grow in a pot indoors in a sandy soil. You keep it lightly watered and dig up the bulb periodically to break off a piece.

Anyone ever grown it to use?
