Jori Posted February 11, 2010 Share Posted February 11, 2010 1/2 c butter 1 (3-oz) pkg. cream cheese 1 1/2 c sifted powdered sugar 1/2 t baking powder 1 egg 1/2 t vanilla 1 3/4 c all-purpose flour Powdered sugar icing white nonpareils Beat butter & cheese in a medium mixing bowl on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add powder sugar & baking powder; beat til combined. Beat in egg & vanilla. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour with a wooden spoon. Divide dough in half. Cover and chill for 1 hour or until easy to handle. Roll each portion of dough on a lightly floured surface until 1/8 inch thick. Cut with a floured cookie cutter. Place cutouts 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 9 minutes or edges or set. Transfer cookies to wire racks to cool. Glaze tops with icing. Using a decorating bag fitted with a fine plain tip, outline edges with additional icing. Immediately sprinkle outlines with white nonpareils. Makes 42 (approx) Powdered Sugar Icing: Stir together 2 c sifted powdered sugar & 2 T milk in a bowl. Add additional milk, 1 t at a time, until icing reaches drizzling consistency. Link to comment
