Homesteader
I don't know if this is done nationwide or not but it is a great idea. The Army base near here looks for volunteer families to host Thanksgiving dinners for single troops. Alot of these are young guys who have no families with them and are faced with the chow hall dinner. What you do is offer to take a minimum of 2 troops to join your family for the Thanksgiving dinner so they can have a family style meal and not be alone. I know many who have done this and they have all found this rewarding. So if you live near a base and can squeeze a few more around the table consider this! Quote Link to comment
