  1. Wow. Everyone has lot going on in their lives....just read 8 pages worth since I was last in this thread. Praying for you all.

I feel like I’m just hanging in there until June 10. Retirement can’t come any faster....I’ve been working with preschoolers for almost 40 years....love the kids but just am tired of the parent drama. People are too anxious and angry....and it’s spilling over onto their kids. It just makes me sad....

I took yesterday off just to do nothing.
Today I’m going to the Whole Earth Festival at our local University. It’s the equivalent of a modern day hippie fest. I love going because I can find some wonderful handmade soaps, essential oils and real good food. And maybe a henna tattoo... It’s also fun to see everyone walking around in tye dyed tees and making giant bubbles....;)
I also need to get out into my garden and get some transplants into grow bags.
The weather is supposed to be in the 70’s today.

  2. I don’t currently have a backyard flock but have been wondering if it’s possible keep a small flock safe. Especially if it’s being spread by wild birds. Maybe covered runs and not allowing for free range? I’m assuming it’s spread by droppings to other birds? Could this be done?

  3. I’m definitely in! I have quite a bit started but really only harvesting strawberries at the moment. I’ll try to post pictures this weekend.

  4. Martianchick, I see absolutely nothing wrong with hoping that nice rain system drops necessary rain in Florida. :)

Here is a link to a YouTube video of the tapping I do. I’ve never been good at meditation either but for some reason this works for me to keep me focused...it’s probably the tapping part. I listen to one to help me fall asleep at night...I never finish it because i fall out before it’s over.

  5. Over the past couple of years with everything that’s been going on with covid, work related stuff, and my moms health failing and also having to take care of my father in law...my stress levels were through the roof. I’ve always had low blood pressure but I’ve had times where it started getting high. I was getting really bad headaches and I’ve also had some big anxiety attacks...something I’ve never dealt with before.

I’ve started saying No when it comes to work...and a huge stress reliever is when I made the decision to retire a couple of months ago (39 more working days to go). I’ll be poor...but I’ll be alive... <_< I listen to You Tube videos that play calming music and have different scenery...I have this thing called a vibration plate that I use daily and it helps me relax...and the best thing that has worked for me is doing something called EFT tapping. I’ve been doing it for several months now and it’s improved my sleep and it helps me to relax when my stress builds up. Spending time outside in my garden and turning off the news are also things that I do as well.

  6. Yikes! Today while shopping at Costco I was looking at the big packages of chicken thighs. Something unusual I noticed is that there wasn’t any pricing on the shelving like usual. On one side there were a few packages of foster farm chicken thighs...all priced around $9...and expiring 4/19. Next to them were the same size packages of thighs (Kirkland brand)...just being put out...same size...expiring on 4/24. They were an average of $26!!
So what did I do to save some money? I grabbed the rest of the foster farms chicken...it’s now sitting happily in my freezer.
If prices continue to rise like this we’re going to have more than a meatless Monday...it’s gonna be happening on a lot more days.
