you are to be commended for instilling these qualities in your son.
He is to be commended for his chivalry!

C4C thanks for posting details. I second the not accumulating what you do not need!
Collections of anything are dust catchers , and whereas so many things can be pretty
and give you pleasure, keep in mind your strength to care for such!
I too, found out the hard way, wear a mask- even in the heat for dusty collections of any
type. I got mechanical pneumonia without a mask!
Glad you are over the sinus infections and hope you can feel some relief now from not
having the apartment to contend with.

Chain letters are just that. Regardless of what they are - email or slow mail they go in the trash.
A round robin is something totally different.

Most of the prepared salads come form China, as does peanut butter which is sent
over here in 55gallon drums.
Clover Valley PB is from Tennessee and made in USA and I believe grown in USA
Check the origin on frozen vegetables and you will find they are mostly China.
Trouble is even if we raise at home some of the proteins if not all, in commercial feeds are also
from China as are many of the dog food ingredients. For that matter a lot of the pet foods are
now made over seas.
A man(in China) was caught selling rat meat for lamb, etc. He was prosecuted but as fast as they
put one down more are on the way with some other scheme.

When I see this I wonder.....The government closed down a dairy belonging to friends selling cheese for just the reason above. Private labs proved the cheese was not contaminated.
This also happened to a dairy in NY several years ago and she took them to court and won.Her farm did not have listeria and it was thought- I do not remember if it was proved- that the listeria was planted by the inspectors...
While it pays to be cautious...remember we have a government that is trying to destroy the farms that provide us food---yet it is alright to bring in adulterated food from China but our own food is not safe to eat.

New experience today! I go to the swap where a truck comes in with mostly frozen goods.
Today he had a bushel of Granny Smith apples that had been put in the freezer by mistake.
I got them for $4 and am working them .
I wash them and put the whole frozen apples in the kettle 1/5 bushel at a time. The last ones are on now.
I will be making applesauce and butter out of them. Have a crockpot of butter going now the sauce and more butter will be processed tomorrow.
I also got gizzards which I will can on Thursday .
He did not have liver this time. I cook the liver ("deep fry") in boiling water then put it in the jars and process.
It is so good to take out of the jar, season with flour ,salt and pepper and fry per normal. I mainly can it for the dog and catbut it is ready as a quick meal.

We have used the venetian blinds for years in the greenhouse and garden.
We found that a lead pencil will last longer than ink.

This came in one of my emails.....
I got this from a reliable source, but he wasn’t sure of its
authenticity and I don’t know how to verify it because it hasn’t
happened and the Church hasn’t made an announcement about it
yet.
The Article says that Canneries West of the Mississippi River
will be closed. That is wrong, the Canneries affected are those
EAST of the Mississippi as the article states farther on, the
Western Canneries will have to pick up the slack for the closed
Eastern Canneries.
This is a harbinger of more and tighter regulations on food of
all types by the Food and Drug Administration and the
Agricultural Department. As a result, farmers and producers are
burdened with more regulations that will result in shut downs
because of higher operating costs and fines for those not in
compliance.
How does this affect you and me? One; food will be in shorter
supply as farmers and producers cut back growing and packaging
because of the added costs to comply with the new and stricter
regulations. Two; we will see the price of food skyrocket
because of shortages and the added costs to grow and package/can
the available food.
The bottom line is, now is the time to “top-off” and “fill-in”
your food supply.
Sell a gun or some ammunition if you have to but get it now before it’s
not available or too costly.
The Lord said through Isaiah: “Wherefore do ye spend money for
that which is not bread . . .” Isaiah 55:2. The Lord is
talking to you and me, as the things spoken of in the Book
Isaiah is directed to those at the end of this “Last
Dispensation” that prayerfully study them. -

If it doesn't work for me I give it time and try hours later or the next day
No sweat for me .
Ann, I am thankful it is you that knows what to do and can handle it.
It certainly is beyond me!

You could try plants from a different source if still available.
(Surely WM is not importing plants from China?)
Then take an old sheet and make a canopy over the tender
plants to shade from the sun and help conserve moisture.
Mulch also if possible.

Did you say you bought bagged soil? I would expect that to be the cause.
For sure if it is Miracle Grow

Childbearing was discussed before we married. I told him it would not matter- I would
take what came.
He did not think he could sire children....
My Mother was one of 11, and many of her siblings had 10-11 children so the
possibility was there for me..
So within 3 months of our marriage my pregnancy came as a shock <G>.
Children are a learning experience, no two are alike! Think you have learned with the first
and then the second comes totally different....
Parenting is caretaking, and like a garden the children will need different training....

Very nice kids, uniform! Babies are babies......human or not...........
I agree with you Mt.Ryder! I would love to be near enough to help!!

Until last week the ground was frozen.
This week we are starting with rain, but my celery that spent the winter in the cellar
is on the patio and beginning to green up now with light!
I do have some onions that have faithfully come up from the planting of year
before last. So I could have green onions. I have garlic that should have been
transplanted last fall, I think a leek that i pitched because it was so limply wilted has resurrected.
Otherwise Ann you put us all to shame!

I am canning liver again!! 14 quarts today.

The VA always gave them to veterans for gas mileage. I used to have a lot of them but never thought about them
being "unknown"!
Loved the story!! -
C4C. I feel for you! while it has not been completely that bad with my sister,
I too have found much in the trash that should never be.
But I never thought they would put your Dad in prison with his health or
being "primary caretaker" for his wife.
I feel your pain- may you have the strength and courage to endure.....

It is probably a sour dough type bread.
Somehow I get the impression most of us have clean house and do not live like slobs .
If we live clean, our homes should be clean, and since we breathe the air in our homes we should not be afraid of the yeast which is there..from the cheese you eat or make and other foods like breads.
This is of course not to say that you could or should raise the bread in the bath room....

I have not tried this but it looks interesting, would be considered cheap I think.
Here is a recipe for Ancient-Style Bread.
Ingredients:
14 oz. flour
1 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Mix the water, flour, and salt together slowly. Then knead the dough and form it
into flat round patties.
Cover the dough with a cloth and let it sit overnight. The next day, bake it in
an oven at 350°F for 30 minutes. For an authentic Mesopotamian experience,
eat the bread with a raw onion!

Today I had to go to the mall. As I approached the entrance, I noticed a driver looking for a parking space.
