  1. HI Lynne, you will find that most here are christian. But we are a family, we laugh together, cry together, play together and sometimes we agree to disagree with each other... we pray togehter and for each other. we dont discuss religious values here on the site, nor race, creed or color... women are women, people are people.. As i tought my children religion or color dont matter... when we are cut we bleed and when we're hurt we cry... we are human, all with faults and frailties.

we live all over the country, in fact all over the world but we are close... as close as blood relatives can be. Many of us have met in person, but we have met in the heart and that is what is most important. I am closer to some here than I am with my biological family... and this is home to me...

I can come here to complain, rejoice, ask for prayer, share prayers for others, share knowledge , gain knowledge... we are simply a family by choice and as you read and get to know us all you will see what mrs.s is all about.... right down to our big brothers, ed and captain kirk........ and a few more.

  2. I wish I could just put my arms around you and hug you till you felt a little better. I lost my grandson a year ago this month and my Da siz weeks later. I know the pain and hurt and confusion... my prayers are with you nana and your brother and sister also. may god bless. twila

  3. Ever see a beautiful dress you want to buy and it says Dry Clean Only ? Check the label closely, if its is 100% polyester you can launder it at home your self! I have cleaned the most beautiful wedding dresses recently and yup, you guessed it... they were 100% polyester and I put them in a mesh laundry bag for delicates, tossed them in the washing machine and used Woolite for Delicates ,an extra rinse cycle with extra fabric softener and cold water to "WASH" them. After they were done with the second rinse cycle I hung them up to drip dry and then they were steam pressed.

Clothes that have a very strong smokey smell are washed with 1 scoop of a good powdered detergent, 1-2 scoops of a powdered dish washing detergent with lemon and 2 scoops of plain old Baking Soda. One or two washings with this combination will take the odor of smoke out of the clothes and they are as good as new.

Clothing with spandex can be washed as well... just remember that heat damages the spandex, we "air" dry our spandex that is washed and it is just fine.

Clothing that is made of Rayon SHOULD be drycleaned to avoid horrific wrinkles that are very hard to steam out during pressing.

  4. Goosie, try the fabreeze and then put the yarn outside in the fresh air and sunlight for the day.... I had to do fur collars alot at the dry cleaners and i steamed them down then fabreezed them and out in the sunlight for the day! bingo all odors were gone... even smoke from house fires.

  5. A dozen Long Stemmed Red Roses, a bottle of GOOD wine, Dinner and dancing.... and then tell her how much you love her Big Brother. ROFL.... boy you're lucky you're not married to me! Even The Giants knows better than to say ANYTHING about my weight! KOTC twi

All of these books have a slight musty smell, but I don't think I would part with any of them. I have never even heard of this Mark Twain book and I thought I had read them all.

  7. I went to the recycling center next door yesterday to dispose of my cardboard and plastic jugs and fell into a virtual gold mine of "ancient" books! Two of them first editions childrens books from 1886/1887... Needless to say I am making photocopies of these books and contacting a library to find out how to store these treasures and preserve them...

apparently these were from an estate and someone didnt know what they were throwing away...I retrieved 10 books that I will treasure for years to come, one of them the second edition of "Alice throught the Looking Glass".

  8. I got a full time job as a Dry Cleaner with a fire restoration company. Now can ya just see me as a professional dry cleaner? grin.gif... The Giant gave up driving a truck and has gone in business for himself as an auto mechanic. Life isnt easy, but it is a challenge right now and I AM WOMAN therefore I am strong. twila

  9. HI ALL ! I'm alive and kicking in New Jersey... fluke fishing is great Big Brother and so is the Sea Bass! grin.gif I'm working full time now and busy with The Giant and The Munchkin.... love the new site Twi.

  10. Dar, this is an imperfect word and we are all imperfect people. Life happens and sometimes it isnt easy to deal with... stop agonizing over what you have had no control over hun.

In the past 3 years I have gone thru a divorce, lost my home, experienced a near death illness myself. Last year I suffered a second light stroke, 11 months ago buried my grandson and 6 weeks later my Da... as a result of all the stress I let alot of people here at Mrs.S down... some have forgiven me and some are still angry with me.

I have spent months grieving and praying and finally laid it down at the lords feet because I was making myself ill again over it all. I remember "Da Boss" dancing in her blue dress... what a beautiful site you were too.. smile.gif and also when she was angry at me... but I never stopped loving you and caring about you and you needs to stop beating yourself up over all of this.

Life happens and it either beats us or makes us stronger in the end.... Ive never been a quitter and neither have you girlfriend.... so let the past take care of itself and go on from today... KOTC Twila
