Has anyone read the new sequel to 'One Minute After'? I can't seem to get the link to work, but I bought it on amazon. It's called 'One Year After'. I haven't had time to really get into it yet, but I really liked the first one, so I'm hoping it will be good also.

I added cumin the last time I canned chili beans, and they tasted a little bitter. Maybe I just used too much? I think next time I'll just add the cumin after I open them...

Mine came in yesterday, but I haven't looked at it yet. Dh and I have been sick for almost a week with a weird combination of gastric problems/ upper respitory infection. If I'm not better in a few days, I'm going back to the Dr. Unending coughing plus nausea is miserable. I need sleep...

Wish I had known this last month when I moved over 500 jars. What a pain- I hope I never have to move again. I do think I'll order some just to store clean jars in.

For a couple of days now, everytime I try to open MrsS I get this message! Can anyone tell me what it means. I thought I wasn't going to be able to get through tonight. Wasn't even sure I should try to override the warning!! I thought the first time was just a glitch, but it's not going away.

I'm like Momo, I buy dry milk for cooking or when I run out of fresh milk. I live way out of town, so I can't just run to a store. Dry milk is high, but I keep it in storage for convenience. I don't buy a lot at a time, because it seems to turn strong tasting when stored too long. Right now I just buy it at Walmart or Sams.

I read the instructions on NCHFP, but was wondering if the pressuring time would be the same if I don't use any meat?

She also brought a huge bag of collards and a big rutabaga. We had those for supper. Yummy!!

Did you both eat the skin and fat from the ham hock? I love ham, but every time I eat the fat, I end up at the dr. with terrible Gastritis and other stomach complaints. I'm sure the ham would have been done after cooking that long.

Look what my sweet SIL brought me last night! I think I will have some smothered cabbage with pork chops, stir fry cabbage with ground turkey, freezer cole slaw...Did I say cabbage is one of my favorite veggies??

I had a bad fall right before Christmas, so I wasn't able to shop or cook for the holidays. I was really wanting turkey and dressing, so I went to WalMart Saturday hoping to find at least one left behind turkey. They had a counter full of Butterball turkeys for 50 cents a pound! I just got 3 because my freezers are overflowing. If I were able to can, I would have acted piggish and gotten at least 4 or 5 more to can.

Got my last ornament today. Thanks Momma23boys! Everyone did such a good job! Now to find my Mrs S tree...
