  1. I'm so glad you decided to start this thread Unikemom, what a great idea!

I'm Becca Anne, SAHM to 4, soon to be a WAHM since we need $ to get by. I'm going to be selling things I craft on ebay and bargains I find at all the estate and yard sales around here. I am married to my sweet DH Lane, who is currently driving a cab for a living instead of computer programming. He lost his job a year ago and just recently got this one. He has Asperger's syndrome which is High Funtioning Autism. We have one DD who is 12, and starting 7th grade. I homeschool her part time and she attends classes with small groups through the learning center. Our son Max is 9 and started 4th grade yesterday, he along with our 1st grade Jake who is 6 both have AS as well. Then there is Nick, our sweet and mischevious 2 1/2 yr old who just started potty training yesterday and is a whole lot of fun. He is very outgoing and social so no worries about his development.

I am a very busy and sometimes nutty person who is comitted to a preparedness lifestyle with no homestead to live it on. SO I just come here to learn as much as I can and try to work toward my dream of someday owning my own little homestead.

Hope you all feel welcome here and enjoy our online home!

  2. I am so very very sorry. Your grandchildren are very lucky to have you in their lives. Your DIL surely is abusive, probably a drug addict. She shouldnt' be allowed any unsupervised visits after her threats on their lives even if she hasn't made them recently that alone is enough that she shouldn't have access to them without supervision. I will keep you and your family in my prayers!

  3. Well, if it was just me and DH I would like a cozy cottage. But with 4 kids underfoot I feel SO cramped I'd love a much bigger house to get some quiet spot to relax in once in awhile. Have to make do with my patio table and chair outside for now

  4. Well since we're renting and the climate is so much more mild here I have a lot less to do. No garden here.

Outside, I will need to clean off the patio furniture and put it in the carport for the winter

Rake the leaves up all autumn LOL, but the kids will help with that.

Decorate for fall- maybe some hay bales and a stuffed scarecrow on the front porch and a pumpkin or two in October. New Doormat for the front porch this fall and a wreath for the door I love to decorate for the seasons and I haven't done anything here yet.

    Inside- Hmmm

Go through every room and vacuum under the beds and then steam clean the carpets. I do this every 3 months or so since I have my own steam cleaner

Get the winter clothes out of storage and wash and switch them out with the summer things

    Order firewood.

    Get a new firescreen

Clean the cars before it gets rainy

Take my down blanket to the cleaners and fix the duvet cover- missing buttons?!

Not much else to do around here, but I do need to declutter more of course what else is new and make sure the kids have enough winter clothes, boots that fit etc.

  5. Um since I've been a SAHM since my DD was born I'd have to say a resounding YES! I love being home for my family and I wouldn't want it any other way and I sincerely hope that I get to stay home with my kids as long as they need me. Financially that might not be possible, but I'll do whatever I can to bring in some income from home if I can.

  6. My favorite season when the air gets crisp and cool and the leaves get so beautiful. My memories of childhood and jumping in the piles and drinking cider and pumpkins and the start of school which I actually liked LOL. My kids bring all those fun times back and I just have so much fun watching them discover the simple pleasures the changing seasons bring.

  7. Rained here this morning, and I'm glad because we needed it badly! DH can't mow now, but that's o.k. he needs the rest after his first week of getting up at 4 am every day. The kids and I watched a cute movie called Snow Dogs my neighbor loaned us. Now I'm just getting ready to make dinner. I think I'll make chili today
