  1. Feel better Jeepers and have a safe trip! It's really cold here today. We got a light dusting of snow. Finally feels and looks like winter here. I am taking today to just rest and recouperate after all the stress now that I have a place to send my stepdad. I will do laundry and read today.

  2. Safe travels Jeepers it's really going to be a cold yucky mess so hope it doesn't interfere with your trip.

Worked late tonight and working on a discharge plan for my stepfather who unfortunately has caught COVID at the hospital. But that may buy us some time to find the right location to move him to. The issue I'm having is the discharge planners send me these facilities that all look the same, they all say they do the same things and yet the facility that kicked him out advertized the same kind of care. How on earth can I tell if they can handle him? And manage to stick under his budget still leaving him with any funds to have a cushion. Not many options. And tons of phone calls I will probably be on the phone most of the day and Saturday making up my mind on what makes sense for his care. What I've learned from all of this? Don't get dementia. Sigh...:imoksmiley:

  3. No Worries Snowmom it may still show up I just got a card one of my friends sent in early December. Even so I have so many wonderful ornaments from the exchange over the years I think of you every time I decorate my tree :hug3:

  4. Miki hope you have a good weekend too.

Jeepers glad your new phone is working out. Hope the insurance is transferrable to your new location. I'm researching policies now I think it will be really important to put in place knowing what a mess it can be without it.

Littlesister sounds like you've got great canning projects planned. Hope your GS feels better soon. So sorry about your neighbor :hug3:

I had sewing today and got all my strip blocks done for the donations quilts my guild is making. I just have one more bundle of strips to sew for next weekend. I'll tackle that with my 10 min per day habit I'm building to sew a bit every day. I've exercised every day this month just 10 minutes doing yes2next on you tube walking videos and they are a great way to get started when you're really out of shape. Which I have to admit I am. So I'm working on that with baby steps I want to be able to keep myself strong as I age.

  5. Jeepers sorry you couldn't find your old phone but glad you got the new one even if it was a pain and not quite what you wanted. I need a new phone too and not looking forward to dealing with that but it's not an emergency I just have a crack in the cover over the camera lens and I like to take photos on my camera so that's my motivation. Hard to justify that only for a camera but I am saving up for it.

Got my stepfather in a safe temporary place (see Blue Couch for details) so crisis averted for now. I also found out yesterday I'm getting a raise so that was great news! I had a really challenging year last year at work but secured a very large grant for the company so I think I can breathe easier knowing my hard work has been seen and appreciated. Taking down all the ornaments off the trees today and will leave them up with just lights until Saturday when I can have more time to wrangle them into their boxes :happy0203:

  6. Hope you find your phone Jeepers. I once lost mine in the crack of the seat in the car between the middle and the seat so it wasn't easy to find it. Lucky it had the ringer on so I could hear it but be sure to check around your seat in case it slipped down somewhere strange in the vehicle.

Today was a horrible stressful day. See my post in the Blue Couch

  7. Glad the gas leak is fixed Littlesister!

I've had a headache all day, my reward for exercising and drinking water before I had my coffee I guess :grinning-smiley-044: Oh well I'll stick with my new habits and chalk it up to detoxifying from all the sugar over the holidays.

  8. Feel better soon Jeepers!  Have been settling in with puppy, Ruby isn't sure what to think I feel she is stressed she's excessively drooling which is weird, and looking every bit like one of my kids when I brought home a new baby so I'm making sure everyone is giving her extra attention before petting or playing with the puppy. We have decided to name her Amber

  9. Merry Christmas everyone! I had a really lovely day and great food and laughs with my family just the ones who are here living with us but it was nice to spend some time all in the same room together as that is rare these days. I got a bunch of books I wanted, a breadmaker and a stick vacuum which I'm super excited about because it will now be so much easier to vacuum the stairs! Everyone was happy with their gifts and Ben was excited to learn about our new puppy.

  10. Hello all just enjoying a very restful Christmas eve morning drinking my coffee with a gingerbread cookie. Christmas gifts are all wrapped and under the tree, cookies baked, and I put down a deposit on a puppy sister for my Ruby today. She will arrive after Christmas   My Christmas gift to myself :)

  11. Glad your GS liver test came back good Littlesister!

Jeepers I'm so excited for you that your house is almost all done! I hope you can sell it for a great price and get to finish your move by spring. I'm sure you'll be glad to finally finish sorting through it all and put that part behind you. I'm sure the gifts will be appreciated by patients who need them at your Dr's office

I got my shopping done and only one more day of work before I'm on break until the new year! I'm really looking forward to the time off:hapydancsmil:

  12. I'm midway through A Christmas Carol reading for one of my book groups. I haven't read it in a number of years really enjoying it. Also working my way through Life in Five senses by Gretchin Rubin. What is on your reading list this month?

  13. Book group brunch at my house this morning was so fun. We will meet up again later this month to go to the Botanical Garden night lights on the 27th. Really enjoy this group of ladies we have a lot of laughs together. I have everything ready for Christmas except still need to wrap which I'll start to tackle this afternoon. Enjoying myself today <3
