  1. We did same thing BUT because of wording when she passed we did NOT have access for almost 6 months and had to pay everything out of our account plus lots of hoops to jump through!! Something about it saying "her AND you" or "Her OR you" can't remember which. Bank was real jerk about it even though they knew we had been paying her bills out of her account for years. Check it out carefully and make sure the right word is in there.
  2. We are in a very tight subdivision also and my neighbors must be cousins of your neighbors. Noisy, noisy nosiy!!! We have 4 dogs and I take every chance I get to "Warn" everyone that they are rescues who were abused and bite strangers. While they are all rescues and bark at everyone and everything, one would lick you to death and one would cower in fear. The other two WILL bite and protect their "mommy and Daddy" but only on command...neighbors don't need to know that part. Others in neighborhood have had issues with theft etc...not us. Knock on wood. DH built a "wall"... only out of 2x4's around the back deck. Picture a framed wall then add extra cross bars all over creating different size "windows". I put all kinds of plants on the cross bars so it looks like a wall built to set plants on. Once filled with plants it provides a good deal of privacy. I've got vines started on it but they haven't covered it yet. Here is a pic. (hope I did it right)Everyone who sees it loves it and thinks it's for decoration. Only cost $28.00 cuz we scavanged 2x4's from construction sites (with permission). Bet you could do the same thing with old pallets too. It looks nice and works decent enough for us until we can buy land...out, far out. The $28.00 was for the hardware.
  3. Wonderful post!! Honey is amazing just make sure it is wild raw honey. Some bee keepers feed their bees sugar water and it doesn't seem to work as well We also use honey for minor scraps, burns and wounds among other things. Just a word of caution though. Comfrey is AMAZING for wound healing (we use it all the time and I grow several plants and dry it for future use) BUT it is very important that the wound be extremely clean before using comfrey. It will close a wound very quickly and if the wound is not extremely clean any nasty stuff inside will get closed up too. This could pose serious problems later. I know because when DS #1 was younger he slid down a metal slide knees first on a hot hot summer day. Poor baby had 2nd degree burns on his knees.I did clean it but it hurt him so much that I didn't clean it as well as I should have (bad mommy!!) I used honey and comfrey which healed his knees in no time...with the nasties inside. He ended up needing serious anti-biotics all because I didn't clean it out well enough. The honey will help loads with killing the bacteria but just to please make sure any scrap, cut or wound is clean, clean, clean no matter how much it hurts...just a note of caution.
