  1. Dh took today off work to deal with kid and washer/dryer delivery.  I am so grateful that he is who he is.  I needed it and I didn't even know until he did it.  I am lazing about reading and feeding kid.

  2. It was my great aunt and DH brought in a whole thing about aunt vs great aunt. She was the closest person to me in my family.  We were basically the same.   I miss her more than my mom. She was that to me. My husband is distracted, bit I am just sad.  I will get over it, but I am still sad.  Everything is temporary.  Deal and live.

  3. Baby up way past midnight.  Mom called before I got out of bed.  Aunt died.  Have to finish cleaning so washer/dryer can be delivered tomorrow.   It is a day.

  4. In the past, I have put a playpen outside.  The type with mesh sides.  Then you can put a fitted sheet over the top to keep out the sun.  I still have some leftover playpen sheets and an extra playpen if you need it.  It may not be in the best condition, but it is still good and usable.  It lets them experience the fresh air without too many bugs or too much sun and keeps them close at hand.

  5. Got up, loaded up the washer and...nothing.  No juice, its dead and not worth fixing.  DH internet shopped around, we went to Lowes and I bought a new washer and dryer.  Ours are about 11 years old and needed replacing anyway.  It was expected, but annoying.  New ones are delivered Wednesday are Samsung and black/greyish colored.  My criteria was that it had to be big enough to do a king comforter, top loader, agitator, and dial over buttons.  DH's criteria was NO LG.  We did lunch at Longhorn afterwards.  We are going to have to pull out the current countertop that goes over the front loader washer/dryer and make it 1/3 the size with a shelf between them.  Also bought too many plants (mostly bulbs), so tomorrow will be a busy day.

Everyone is planning wardrobes for tomorrow till Wednesday.  If there is only 1 load, I will handwash it and hang it to dry on my drying rack.  If there is more than 1 load, I'm going to the laundry mat.  ungh.   Hopefully not.  Is it sad that I'd rather do a tub of laundry?  I cannot decide.

  6. I gave Ivy (DD15) a rolling planter a few years back and told her she could plant anything in it.  That year she chose lettuce.  Only she tended it and it did well.  Every year, she fills it with plant of her choosing and tends it herself.  It is her responsibility and joy for whatever she wants to plant--sometimes flowers sometimes food.  She chooses to share it with us though I told  her it was her choice.  She is a very kind teenager.

  7. bake it in a narrow pan to get more height.  You can make your pan thinner by using aluminum foil to narrow the width.  Many of the times you see tall loves it is because of a narrow pan.

  8. I kinda did the number of plants per foot for the square foot gardening, but I use a different soil mix.  It is dirt, manure, and miracle grow.  Some of the dirt is bagged, and some of it is from the by the lake in Vicksburg, MS where my mom lives.  Yes, I transported buckets of dirt when I moved 1200 miles.  I'm a special kind of crazy, but MS dirt is awesome.  I also try to plant a few marigolds near the tomatoes to help cut down on bug issues.  We have several peach trees to one side of the yard, and a pear tree by the deck.    The green lattice to the sides of the raised begs give vining vegetables and tomatoes extra support.  I like some yellow grape tomatoes and they need a lot of support to stay off the ground.  I feed the vines through the trellis as it grows and that helps support the tomatoes.

  9. I enjoy taking pictures of the yard way too much. I get all kinds of wildlife, bears, ducks, and rabbits most commonly.  The occasional opossum.  Neighbor had a brown bear the basic size of my husband on all 4s on his door camera.

  10. We have all the lawn equipment for any environment and most of the power tools.  DH is a collector and a doer so we have most of the things.  He is currently angling at a 3d printer.

We live in suburbia, have raised beds, and lots of defined beds and trees.

  11. Dh swapped to electric lawn equipment.  They have rechargeable interchangeable batteries.  He built a wall bank and just swaps them around as needed.  Same for most of his power tools.   I'd say for an acre or less 2 batteries should complete the job for mowing.  It pushes like a dream.

  12. Long morning.   A vehicle crash in our area caused the power to go out from 730am to just a few minutes ago.   I could have been productive and cleaned, but none of my lights or power tools worked and I was tired and lazy, so we sat near a window and read all morning instead.  I did use my solar powered phone bank to recharge my phone.

  13. The black and white one has passed, but the grey one is still with us.  They LOVE the water and will confirm they have fallen in on top of me trying to sniff it while i was in it.  There is a sitting indention in the back corner.  If I fill the tub to just below that indention, they will step down into the tub and try to splash or drink bathwater from that lower shelf that sits right at waterline if you fill it right.

  14. We made up goat milk and glycerin soaps Christmas before last.  I still have 2 1/2 gallons of bars in bags in the closet.   We don't sell  it though.  Just personal and gifts.  It is fun to make with dried flowers forming visual artwork.

  15.

The sunroom door is basically one big framed window.  I love the stained glass covering we put on it.  Since it is the backyard, we installed it so that the 'pretty' side showed into the sunroom.  You can install it to go either way.  Both sides are acceptable and look good though.

  16. Warm makes things sprout. Cold is always better.  Cold to store, warm to sprout.  No moisture.  moisture= sprout.  Hot = sprout.  Sprouts need to breath.  Stored things do not.  You can keep them in the freezer in a bag and they will sprout once given warmth, soil, and water.  Have done with peppers and such.

  17. I bought some sticker fake picture window stuff off amazon back around 2020 and covered my sunroom door with it.  BEST thing ever.  It blocks most of the light to the foodstuffs in the sunroom, lets though a little light and looks AMAZING! It gives COMPLETE privacy.   I would completely do it again for any window that needed blocking.  Husband installed it and it wasn't hard to put on.  4 years later, it looks exactly like the day we put it on.  I'm sure it will weather time well.
