how long does it keep? how can you tell if it has gone bad? i have a carton in my cupboard that i only used once, and i only used a tablespoon full, so it is almost a full carton. should i replace it? i bought it about a year and a half ago ish? there is no date on it that i can find. but on the back it sais that i can get a free cookbook if i email this email... cookbook@crosbys.com i emailed it but i dont know if that email still works because the site is not crosbys.com anymore, its http://www.molasses.ca/site/ so well, if anyof yoou can get a free cookbook, all the better.

I found this:

Molasses storage

Heat and humidity can cause molasses to get moldy. Store it in a cool, dry place and be sure it is tightly closed. You can also store it in the refrigerator if you don't use it often. Anticipate your use and let it rest at room temperature for half an hour before you need it otherwise it will be thick and difficult to pour. Store unopened molasses in a cool, dark place for up to one year. Once opened, it can be stored for another twelve months in a very cool location if you are careful to wipe the lip of the bottle clean and securely seal it after each use.

Look on the second page; the first page explains all the different types.

That said, I haven't thrown mine out until I see mold.
