Do allergy shots strengthen or weaken overall immunity?

Since the immune system factors heavily into this Bird Flu threat, I'm trying to find out if allergy shots strengthen or weaken overall immunity. I'm in the middle of getting about 2 per week until I can get to a maintenance dose.

I really don't know what they might do. It would depend on what was in the shots. That is something you should discuss with your Dr.

If you are suffering with an allery, it seems like it would also make you vulnerable. Guess you will have to weigh the pros and cons.

As far as I know, allergy shots inhibit histamine production in response to a particular allergen.
