Kygal
who here makes thier own sushi, or maki rolls? (or anything using sushi rice) we make avacado rolls. i USED TO have a rice steamer, and i used to make them a lot. but since the steamer broke i have totally blew 4 batches of rice. does anyone know how to cook sushi rice properly? mine is always either hard in the middle and mushy on the outside, mushy all the way through, or burned. i cant seem to get the slightly chewy yet sticky texture just right. Guest Guest
Well, I've done it once or twice. But I didn't have any problems with the rice. We have a steamer, too, but don't use it much. Do you have aluminum pans? They tend to cook less evenly. I have a set of stainless steel and have no problems cooking rice perfectly on my gas stove. They are heavy and cook evenly. That's the only thing I can imagine happening with your rice... Link to comment
