gardnmom
This is the recipe my Grandma taught me to make pie crust with at the age of 9. Basic Pie crust (for 2 crust pie) 2- cups all purpose flour 1-tsp salt 1/3-cup shortning About ¼ cup cold water Cut shortning into flour and salt until the mixtures is about pea sized. Add cold water and mix, it should be soft enough to roll easily. Flaky crust occurs when there are layers of shortning father than Melted in. It is important to keep all ingredients cold. Proportions are 1/3 cup of shortning per 1 cup of flour ------------------ Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly. Quote Link to comment

Guest Guest
Thats similar to how I used to make pie crust. I also found Crisco made the best ones. Now I cheat and make oil crusts. They don't fall apart as easily when you put them in the pie tin. di ------------------ Quote Link to comment
