Flour tortilla question

Recommended Posts

I made some tortillas for the first time this morn. Put in the cast iron pan and browned them like suggested. I was expecting softer tortillas but they ended up a little stiff. The first tortillas was undercooked in the middle a little....so I had to fry them a little longer.

Any suggestions. I like the recipe and we actually put cin ,sugar and butter on them and they were really good that way but not for rolling and filling, they would break in half?

Corn tortillas with a Tortilla press, flour tortillas need to be done with a rolling pin or flattened by hand. http://www.gourmetsleuth.com/tortillapress.htm

When I pick up a ball of dough I begin go pat them between my hands. I shape them as best as I can into round shapes .. they are close.

I also make Naan the same way but use yeast.
